The inflation based on the Colombo Consumer Price Index for the two months of November and December 2024 is as follows. In November 2024, it was minus two and one decimal place. In December, it was minus one and seven decimal places. Remember… there is negative inflation.
Our country has the highest electricity bill in this region
If we in the National People’s Power give a promise to the people, if we give a hope, we will fulfill that promise and hope. I want to say something especially about the electricity bill. I know that most people in the country expect some explanation from me as the Minister of Energy. As a government, if we have to provide relief to the people, if the government has to face inconvenience, we are ready to suffer that inconvenience as a government without causing inconvenience to the people.

කොළඹ පාරිභෝගික මිල දර්ශකය අනුව ගෙවුණ මාස දෙකෙහි ම උද්ධමනය සෘණ අගයක පැවති බවත්, උත්සව සමයේ දී පවා උද්ධමනය එම තත්ත්වයේ තබාගැනීමට හැකි වීම රජයේ ජයග්රහණයක් බවත්, විදුලිබල ක්ෂේත්රයට අදාළව, ජාතික ජනබලවේගය පොරොන්දු ඉෂ්ට කරන බවත් බලශක්ති අමාත්ය කුමාර ජයකොඩි පැවසී ය.
හෙතෙම මෙම අදහස් ප්රකාශ කළේ පාර්ලිමේන්තුව කල් තැබීමේ යෝජනා ඉදිරිපත් කරන අවස්ථාවේ දී ය.

පසුගිය දෙමස ම ඍණ උද්ධමනයක්
‘‘ජාතික ජනබලවේග අපේ රජයට මේ රටේ ජනතාව, මේ රටේ ඉතිහාසයේ කුමන හෝ රජයකට දුන්න සුවිශේෂම බලය දුන්නෙ ඇයි? මොකක්ද ඒකට හේතුව…? ජනතාවගේ හැබෑ බලාපොරොත්තුව මොකක්ද? කවුද ඒක හරියටම අඳුන ගත්තේ…? ඡන්දෙට කලිනුත් මේ රටේ තත්ත්වය ගැන, මේ රටේ ජනතාවට තිබෙන සැබෑ ගැටලුව ගැන ඔවුන්ගේ හැබෑ බලාපොරොත්තුව ගැන හරියටම අදුනගත්තේ කවුද? ඒ හැබෑ ගැටලු හරියටම අඳුනගත්ත හින්ද ඒවට සැබෑ විසදුම් යෝජනා ඉදිරිපත් කරපු හින්දා මේ රටේ ගැටලුවලට විසදුම් තියෙන්නේ මෙතන හින්දා තමයි ජාතික ජනබලවේගයේ අපට ජනතාව ඒ විශිෂ්ට ජයග්රහණයක් දුන්නේ.
මේ රටේ ගෙවුණ මාස දෙකේ උද්ධමනය ගැන සංඛ්යා ලේඛන මම ඉදිරිපත් කරන්නම්. කොළඹ පාරිභෝගික දර්ශකය මත පදනම්ව වුණු උද්ධමනය දෙදහස් විසි හතරෙ නොවැම්බර් දෙසැම්බර් මාස දෙකේ මෙන්න මෙහෙමයි. දෙදහස් විසි හතරෙ නොවැම්බර් මාසේ සෘණ දෙකයි දශම එකයි. දෙසැම්බර් මාසේ සෘණ එකයි දශම හතයි. මතක තියාගන්න… සෘණ උද්ධමනයක් තියෙන්නේ.
මේ කලාපයේ විදුලිබිල වැඩිම රට අපේ රට
ජාතික ජනබලවේගයේ අපි ජනතාවට දුන්නනම් පොරොන්දුවක්, දුන්නනම් බලාපොරොත්තුවක් අපි ඒ පොරොන්දුව, බලාපොරොත්තුව ඉෂ්ට කරනවා. විශේෂ වශයෙන් විදුලිබිල ගැන යමක් කියන්න ඕනේ. බලශක්ති අමාත්යවරයා හැටියට මගෙන් රටේ වැඩිදෙනෙක් යම් පැහැදිලි කිරීමක් බලාපොරොත්තු වෙන බවත් මම දන්නවා. රජයක් හැටියට ජනතාවට සහන දෙන්න, රජයට අපහසුතාවට පත්වෙන්න සිද්ද වෙනවා නම්, ජනතාව අපහසුතාවට පත් නොකර රජයක් හැටියට ඒ අපහසුතාව විදින්න අපි සූදානම්.
අපි ආඩම්බරයෙන් කියන්නේ, අපි ජනතාවගේ රජයක්. හිටපු පාලකයෝ අපට උරුම කරේ කලාපයේ විදුලිබිල වැඩිම රටක්. ඔව් මේ කලාපයේ විදුලිබිල වැඩිම රටක් තමා අපේ රට, ඒක අපිට එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයට ජීවන වියදමට බලපානවා. රටේ කර්මාන්තශාලාවලට රටේ නිෂ්පාදන ක්ෂේත්රයට ඒක බලපානවා. ඒක හින්දා විදුලිය සාධාරණ, දැරිය හැකි මිලකට දෙන්න ඕනේ. රටේ ජනතාවගේ ජීවිතවලට පහසුවක් පොහාසත්කමක් දෙන්න විතරක් නෙවෙයි, කර්මාන්ත ක්ෂේත්රයේ දියුණුවට අවසාන වශයෙන් රටේ ආර්ථික දියුණුවට.
ඔව් ඒ ජාතික ජනබලවේගයේ අපේ “පොහොසත් රටක් ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්” සිහිනය සැබෑ කරන්නට දැරිය හැකි මිලකට, අවම වශයෙන් මේ කලාපයේ අවම මිලට බැරිනම් කලාපයේ සාමාන්ය මිලට විදුලිය ලබාදෙන බලාපොරොත්තුව පොරොන්දුව අපට තියෙනවා.
