The Daulagala and Kampala police stations have started investigations regarding the kidnapping of the 19-year-old daughter of a trader in Kampala KeliOya area.
He was abducted by some people in a black van yesterday morning (11) while he was going to Thaulagala with a friend to participate in a high class private class.
The young man who kidnapped and detained the student first demanded a ransom of 50 lakh rupees.
But, later it was reduced to 30 lakhs.
Then he told to give the van belonging to the student’s father and to credit the money of 2 lakh rupees into the account.
The father of the student responded and later credited the 50,000 rupees to the appropriate account.
It has been reported that the kidnapper is the student’s brother-in-law.
While the student was wearing her school uniform and going to class with her friend, one of her relatives got down from the van parked on the road and forced the student into the van.
At that time, a young man hung onto the van and tried to save him by going about 500 meters away.
Also, a school teacher chased the van for 20 kilometers on a nearby motorcycle.
However, he missed the van in Kadugasthotai town.
Later, the police found the said van abandoned near Polonnaruwa city yesterday (11) afternoon.
The police said that the hijacked van was rented and it was easy to find the van with GPS technology installed in it.
It is reported that the person who drove the van when the student was abducted is a resident of Thaulagala area and he was arrested by the Thaulagala police while returning home after abandoning the van in Polonnaruwa area.
The police investigation has revealed that the 19-year-old student is the daughter of the suspect’s mother’s brother, and that the suspect is expecting to marry the kidnapped student.
The student’s side reports that the suspect, who worked in Japan for some time, is now addicted to drugs.

உயர்தர தனியார் வகுப்பில் பங்கேற்பதற்காக தவுலகல நகருக்கு நண்பியுடன் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தபோது, நேற்று (11) காலை கறுப்பு வேனில் வந்த சிலரால் கடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
மாணவியை கடத்திச் சென்று தடுத்து வைத்துள்ள இளைஞன் முதலில் 50 இலட்சம் ரூபா கப்பம் கோரியுள்ளார்.
ஆனால், பின்னர் அதை 30 இலட்சமாகக் குறைத்துள்ளார்.
பின்னர் மாணவியின் தந்தைக்கு சொந்தமான வேனை தருமாறும் 2 இலட்சம் ரூபா பணத்தை கணக்கில் வரவு வைக்குமாறு தெரிவித்தார்.
அதற்கு பதிலளித்த மாணவியின் தந்தை பின்னர் உரிய கணக்கில் 50,000 ரூபாயை வரவு வைத்துள்ளார்.
கடத்தலை நடத்தியவர் மாணவியின் மைத்துனர் என தகவல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது.
மாணவி பாடசாலை சீருடை அணிந்து நண்பியுடன் வகுப்புக்கு சென்று கொண்டிருந்தபோது, வழியில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த வேனில் இருந்து அவரது உறவினர் ஒருவர் இறங்கி வலுக்கட்டாயமாக மாணவியை வேனில் ஏற்றியுள்ளார்.
அப்போது, இளைஞர் ஒருவர் வேனில் தொங்கிக் கொண்டு சுமார் 500 மீட்டர் தூரம் சென்று அவரைக் காப்பாற்ற முயன்றார்.
மேலும், பாடசாலை ஆசிரியர் ஒருவர் அருகில் இருந்த மோட்டார் சைக்கிளில் வேனை 20 கிலோ மீட்டர் தூரம் துரத்திச் சென்றார்.
எனினும், கடுகஸ்தோட்டை நகரில் அவர் வேனை தவறவிட்டார்.
பின்னர், பொலன்னறுவை நகருக்கு அருகில் கைவிடப்பட்ட நிலையில் நேற்று (11) பிற்பகல் குறித்த வேனை பொலிஸார் கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளனர்.
கடத்தப்பட்ட வேன் வாடகைக்கு பெறப்பட்டதாகவும், அதில் பொருத்தப்பட்ட ஜிபிஎஸ் தொழில்நுட்பம் மூலம் வேனைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பது எளிதாக இருந்ததாகவும் பொலிஸார் தெரிவித்தனர்.
மாணவி கடத்தப்பட்டபோது வேனை செலுத்திய நபர் தவுலகல பிரதேசவாசி என்றும் பொலன்னறுவை பிரதேசத்தில் வேனை கைவிட்டு வீடு திரும்பும்போது தவுலகல பொலிஸாரால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்கார் எனவும் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
19 வயதுடைய குறித்த மாணவி சந்தேக நபரின் தாயின் சகோதரரின் மகள் எனவும், கடத்தப்பட்ட மாணவியை சந்தேக நபர் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள எதிர்பார்த்துள்ளதாகவும் பொலிஸ் விசாரணையில் தெரிய வந்துள்ளது.
ஜப்பானில் சில காலம் பணியாற்றிய சந்தேக நபர் தற்போது போதைப்பொருளுக்கு அடிமையாகியுள்ளதாக மாணவியின் தரப்பு தெரிவிக்கிறது.
