The Colombo High Court has issued a notice to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who is accused of receiving Rs. 70 million from the Indian company Krish under the pretext of promoting the game of rugby and committing criminal misappropriation, to appear before the court on the 18th.
Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne ordered the issuance of this notice after considering the charge sheets filed by the Attorney General.
The Attorney General has filed an indictment against Namal Rajapaksa alleging that he received Rs. 70 million from the Indian company Krish under the pretext of promoting the game of rugby and committing criminal misappropriation.
The investigations were conducted following a complaint filed by the convener of the Anti-Corruption Voice organization and current Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe during the previous Good Governance government.
The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division had previously reported the facts to the Fort Magistrate’s Court in relation to this incident.
Namal Rajapaksa was arrested as a suspect in the case and produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court and released on bail.

නීතිපතිවරයා විසින් ගොනුකර තිබූ අධි චෝදනා පත්ර සලකා බැලීමෙන් අනතුරුව කොළඹ මහාධිකරණ විනිසුරු මංජුල තිලකරත්න මහතා විසින් මෙම නොතීසි නිකුත් කරන ලෙස නියෝග කළේය.
රග්බි ක්රීඩාව ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා යැයි පවසමින් ඉන්දියාවේ ක්රිෂ් සමාගමින් රුපියල් මිලියන 70ක මුදලක් ලබාගෙන සාපරාදී සාවද්ය පරිහරණයක් සිදු කළේ යැයි නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතාට එරෙහිව නීතිපතිවරයා විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කළ අධි චෝදනාව වලින් චෝදනා එල්ල කර තිබේ.
දූෂණ විරෝධී හඬ සංවිධානයේ කැඳවුම්කරු සහ වත්මන් අමාත්ය වසන්ත සමරසිංහ මහතා විසින් ඉකුත් යහ පාලන රජය සමයේ කරන ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව මෙම විමර්ශන පැවැත්වා ඇත.
මෙම සිද්ධියට අදාළව පොලිස් මූල්ය අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාශය විසින් මීට පෙර කොටුව මහෙස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු වාර්තාකර තිබුණි.
එම නඩුවේ සැකකරුවකු වශයෙන් නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන කොටුව මහෙස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇප මත මුදාහැර තිබේ.
