The Director of Public Communications of the Archdiocese of Colombo, Father Jude Krishantha, has appealed to Christian devotees and the public to attend religious services for Christmas without any fear or doubt.
Venerable Father Jude Krishantha also pointed out that a special security plan has been prepared by deploying police and military personnel at the relevant religious places and churches.
Speaking to the media today (24), Venerable Father Jude Krishantha explained this.
“As the entire Sri Lankan people prepare for Christmas, all Christian devotees in particular will participate in the midnight service today. The main service, presided over by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, will begin at 11.40pm at the Ja-Ela Vikshopa Devata Devamadhu.”
“The Bishops of the Diocese of Colombo and other dioceses in Sri Lanka will be performing the Divine Liturgy in their respective churches. Also, the Midnight Mass will be celebrated with great pomp and joy in all Catholic churches today.”
“The police and security forces have already prepared a special security plan, especially in churches where our people gather at night. Go to churches and perform your religious rituals without any fear. There is space in those churches to participate in the Divine Liturgy with joy, happiness and peace.”

කිසිදු බියක් හෝ සැකයක් නොමැතිව දේවස්ථානවලට ගොස් නත්තල වෙනුවෙන් ආගමික වාතාවත්වල නිරතවන්නැයි කොළඹ අගරදගුරු පදවි ජන සන්නිවේදන අධ්යක්ෂ ජූඩ් ක්රිෂාන්ත පියතුමා කිතුණු බැතිමතුන්ගෙන් සහ ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි.
අදාළ ආගමික ස්ථානවල, දේවස්ථානවල පොලීසිය සහ හමුදාවන් යොදවා විශේෂ ආරක්ෂක වැඩපිළිවෙලක් සකස් කර ඇති බවද ගරු ජූඩ් ක්රිෂාන්ත පියතුමා පෙන්වා දෙයි.
අද (24) මාධ්ය වෙත අදහස් දක්වමින් ගරු ජූඩ් ක්රිෂාන්ත පියතුමා මේ බව පැහැදිලි කළේය.
“නත්තල සඳහා මුළු ලාංකික ජනතාවම සූදානම් වෙද්දි විශේෂයෙන්ම කිතුණු බැතිමතුන් සියලුදෙනා අද මධ්යම රාත්රියේ දිව්ය මෙහෙයට සහභාගී වෙනවා. අතිඋතුම් මැල්කම් කාදිනල් රංජිත් හිමිගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වෙන ප්රධාන දේවමෙහෙය ජා-ඇළ වික්ෂෝප දේවමාතා දෙව්මැදුරේදී රාත්රී 11.40 ට ආරම්භ වෙනවා.”
“කොළඹ පදවිය සහ ලංකාවේ අනෙකුත් පදවිවල අතිඋතුම් රදගුරුතුමන්ලා ඒ ඒ විශේෂ දේවස්ථානවලදී එම දිව්ය යාගයන් සිදුකරනවා. ඒ වගේම කතෝලික හැම දේවස්ථානයකදීම අද මධ්යම රාත්රී දිව්ය යාගය ඉතා උත්කර්ෂවත්ව ප්රීතියෙන් සමරනු ලබනවා.”
“විශේෂයෙන්ම අපගේ ජනතාව එකරාශ්රී වන දේවස්ථානවලදී පොලීසිය සහ ආරක්ෂක හමුදාවන් විශේෂ ආරක්ෂක වැඩපිළිවෙළක් මේ වනවිට සකස් කරලා තියෙනවා. කිසිදු බියක් සැකක් නැතිව දේවස්ථානවලට ගිහිල්ලා තමන්ගේ ආගමික වතාවන් ඉටු කරන්න. එම දේවස්ථානවලදී ප්රීතියෙන් සතුටින් සැනසුමෙන් යුතුව දිව්ය යාගයට සහභාගි වෙන්න අවකාශය තිබෙනවා”.
