A special announcement has been made on the official Facebook page of the Sri Lanka Police on the occasion of the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year, as per the instructions of the Acting Inspector General of Police.
It emphasizes that receptions should not be organized at police stations by accepting financial donations from police officers and the business community and that officers should not give gifts when greeting senior officers.
It also states that senior officers should not accept any money or gifts that are given.
It further states that disciplinary action will be taken against officers who do not follow these instructions.

එළඹෙන සිංහල සහ දෙමළ අළුත් අවුරුද්ද වෙනුවෙන් පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් වෙත කෙරෙන සංග්රහයන් පිළිබඳව වැඩබලන පොලිස්පතිතුමාගේ උපදෙස් පරිදි, ශ්රී ලංකා පොලිස් නිල ෆේස්බුක් පිටුවෙහි විශේෂ නිවේදනයක් සිදුකර තිබෙනවා.
ඒ පොලිස් නිලධාරීන්ගෙන් සහ ව්යාපාරික ප්රජාවගෙන් මූල්ය පරිත්යාග ලබාගනිමින් පොලිස් ස්ථාන තුළ සංග්රහ සංවිධානය නොකරන ලෙසත් නිලධාරීන් ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන් හට සුබ පැතීමේදී ත්යාග ලබාදීම නොකළ යුතු බවත් අවධාරණය කරමින්.
එමෙන්ම එසේ ලබාදෙන කිසිදු මුදලක් හෝ ත්යාගයක් ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන් භාර නොගත යුතු බවත් එහි සඳහන්.
මෙම උපදෙස් පිළිනොපදින නිලධාරීන් සම්බන්ධව විනය ක්රියාමාර්ග ගන්නා බවයි වැඩිදුරටත් දැක්වෙන්නේ.
