President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said at a public rally in Akkarapattu that the government has now established strong international relations.
The President said that he has visited India, China and the United Arab Emirates and has received an invitation to visit Japan in September.
“For the first time, a government has been formed that builds the country. Previously, governments were formed by ministers and MPs.
We have alleviated this economic crisis to a significant extent. When the dollar fell, it had one value and when it rose, it had another value. Today, the dollar has been able to maintain the level of 300 rupees.
That means the economy is stable. The interest rate went up to 30-35%. Today, it is kept at less than ten percent. That is a sign of economic stability.
Foreign investments left this country. Foreign investments stopped. The Indian, Japanese and Chinese governments have decided to restart all their stopped projects.
There is a shortage of Tamil-speaking officers in the police department. Salaries have been increased. More facilities are being provided. The highest salary increase in history has been given to civil servants,” the President said.

අප සැලකිය යුතු ප්රමාණයකින් මේ ආර්ථික අර්බුදය සමනය කරගෙන තිබෙනවා.ඩොලරය නිදියන විට තව අගයකුත් නැගිටින විට තව අගයකුත් ලෙස පැවතුණා.අද වන විට ඩොලරය රුපියල් 300 සීමාවේ ආරක්ෂා කරගන්නට හැකියාව ලැබී තිබෙනවා.
ඒ කියන්නේ ආර්ථිකය ස්ථාවරයි. පොලී අනුපාතය 30-35% අගයකට ගියා.එය අද වන විට සියයට දහයකට වඩා අඩු අගයක තබාගෙන සිටිනවා.එය ආර්ථික ස්ථාවර බව පිළිබඳ සාධකයක් .
මෙරට විදෙස් ආයෝජන දාලා ගියා. විදේශ ආයෝජන නතර වුණා.ඉන්දීය ,ජපන්, චීන රජයන් ඔවුන්ගේ නතර කෙරුණු සියලු ව්යාපෘති නැවත ඇරැඹීමට තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා.
පොලිස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ දෙමළ භාෂාවෙන් කතා කරන නිලධාරීන්ගේ හිඟයක් තිබෙනවා.වැටුප් වැඩි කරලා තියෙනවා. තවත් පහසුකම් දෙනවා.රාජ්ය සේවකයන්ට ඉතිහාසයේ වැඩිපුරම වැටුප් වැඩිවීම ලබාදී තිබෙනවා යනුවෙන්ද ජනාධිපතිවරයා කීය.
