The Meteorological Department has announced that showers or thundershowers may occur at times in the Southern Province and in the Moneragala, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
It is stated that showers or thundershowers may occur at places in the rest of the island during the evening or night.
It is reported that showers may also occur in the coastal areas of the Western Province during the morning.
Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces.
It is also stated that foggy conditions may prevail at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces during the morning.
The Department of Meteorology urges the public to take necessary steps to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.

බස්නාහිර පළාතේ වෙරළබඩ ප්රදේශවල උදෑසන කාලයේදී ද වැසි ඇතිවිය හැකි බවයි වාර්තා වන්නේ.
බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව, මධ්යම, ඌව සහ දකුණු පළාත්වල ඇතැම් ස්ථානවලට මි.මී. 100 ට වැඩි තද වැසි ඇති විය හැකියි.
මධ්යම, සබරගමුව, ඌව, උතුරු සහ උතුරු-මැද පළාත්වල ඇතැම් ස්ථානවල උදෑසන කාලයේදී මීදුම් සහිත තත්ත්වයක් පැවතිය හැකි බවද සඳහන් වනවා.
ගිගුරුම් සහිත වැසි සමග ඇතිවිය හැකි තාවකාලික තද සුළං වලින් සහ අකුණු මඟින් සිදු වන අනතුරු අවම කර ගැනීමට අවශ්ය පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිනවා.
