The government advises the public to wear face masks whenever possible and seek medical attention if they experience breathing difficulties due to the slightly unhealthy air quality levels reported in several districts.
The reason for the decline in air quality is the polluted wind currents coming from the north, and the air quality levels across the country will be slightly unhealthy and not healthy in the coming days, according to the Vehicle Emissions Testing Unit of the Department of Motor Transport.
Currently, air quality is at slightly unhealthy levels in seven districts including Kurunegala, Kandy, Galle, Ratnapura, Embilipitiya, Trincomalee and Hambantota.
Moderate levels were reported in Vavuniya, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam, Mullaitivu, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura
දිස්ත්රික්ක කිහිපයක වාර්තා වී ඇති තරමක් සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න නොවන වායු ගුණාත්මක මට්ටම් හේතුවෙන් හුස්ම ගැනීමේ අපහසුතා ඇති වුවහොත් හැකි සෑම විටම මුහුණු ආවරණ පැළඳීමට සහ වෛද්ය ප්රතිකාර ලබා ගන්නැයි රජය ජනතාවට දන්වයි.
වාතයේ ගුණාත්මකභාවය පහත වැටීමට හේතුව උතුරේ සිට එන දූෂිත සුළං ප්රවාහයන් වන අතර ඉදිරි දිනවලදී රට පුරා වායු ගුණාත්මක මට්ටම් තරමක් සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න නොවන සහ සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න නොවනු ඇති බවත් මෝටර් රථ ප්රවාහන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ වාහන විමෝචන පරීක්ෂණ ඒකකය පවසයි.
මේ වන විට කුරුණෑගල, මහනුවර, ගාල්ල, රත්නපුර, ඇඹිලිපිටිය, ත්රිකුණාමලය සහ හම්බන්තොට ඇතුළු දිස්ත්රික්ක හතක වායු ගුණාත්මකභාවය තරමක් සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න නොවන මට්ටමක පවතී.
