The Jaffna University Lecturers’ Association has launched a strike.
It is reported that the lecturers of all the faculties of the university are participating in a lecture strike based on 5 demands.
The University Teachers’ Union says that the strike will continue until it gets good responses to its demands.
The main reason for the strike is the failure of the university administration to properly intervene to stop the undisciplined actions of students of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Jaffna.

යාපනය විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ ආචාර්යවරුන්ගේ සංගමය වර්ජනයක් ආරම්භ කර තිබෙනවා.
ඉල්ලීම් 5ක් මුල්කර ගනිමින් විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ සියලු පීඨවල ආචාර්යවරුන් දේශන වර්ජනයකට එක්ව සිටින බවයි වාර්තාවන්නේ.
විශ්වවිද්යාල ආචාර්යවරුන්ගේ සංගමය පවසන්නේ, සිය ඉල්ලීම් වෙනුවෙන් යහපත් ප්රතිචාර ලැබෙන තෙක් වර්ජනය අඛණ්ඩව ක්රියාත්මක කරන බවයි.
යාපනය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ කලා පීඨයේ සිසුන්ගේ විනය විරෝධී ක්රියාවන් නවතා දැමීමට විශ්වවිද්යාල පාලනාධිකාරිය නිසි මැදිහත්වීමක් සිදුනොකිරීම එම වර්ජනයට ප්රධාන හේතුව වී තිබෙනවා.
