Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa, speaking at the opening ceremony of the new Provincial Council Forum office held at the party headquarters on Thelum Mawatha, Battaramulla, yesterday, pointed out that it is inappropriate for the President, as the Commander-in-Chief, to discuss matters that should be discussed in the Security Council on the political stage.
Speaking on the National People’s Power Movement, Rajapaksa warned that if that party tries to rule the state through threats and repression, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is ready to face it. He also explained with illustrations that when the government becomes politically bankrupt, it becomes agitated “like pouring kerosene on a hawk.”
Namal Rajapaksa made a special emphasis, referring to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. As he said, Mahinda Rajapaksa is not a whiner, and when he started the war, he knew that it would bring life threats and revenge to several generations of his family.
“He knew that there was a risk not only to life, to the lives of his children, but also to the children of his children,” Mr. Rajapaksa said.
Recalling the events of the war, he further said that those who say we should not whine today hid under beds, chairs and tables during the war to defeat the budget and sabotage the program to end terrorism.
Mr. Rajapaksa also commented on the official residence on Wijerama Mawatha. As he said, he is waiting for the official letter informing him to hand over the house, and he also emphasized that many people are waiting to harm former President Mahinda Rajapaksa by reducing his security.

ජාතික ජනබල වේගය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අනතුරු ඇඟවූයේ එම පක්ෂය තර්ජනයෙන් හා මර්දනයෙන් රාජ්ය පාලනය කිරීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ නම්, ශ්රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණ එයට මුහුණ දීමට සූදානම් බවයි. ආණ්ඩුව දේශපාලනිකව බංකොලොත් වන විට “ගැරඬියාට භූමිතෙල් ගැහුවා සේ” කලබල වන බව ද ඔහු උපමා සහිතව පැහැදිලි කළේය.
හිටපු ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ගැන සඳහන් කරමින් නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා විශේෂ අවධාරණයක් කළේය. ඔහු පැවසූ පරිදි මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ යනු කෙඳිරිගාන පුද්ගලයෙකු නොවන අතර, යුද්ධය ආරම්භ කිරීමේදී එය තම පවුලේ පරම්පරා කිහිපයකටම ජීවිත තර්ජන සහ පළිගැනීම් ගෙන එනු ඇති බව දැන සිටියේය.
“ජීවිතයට, දරුවන්ගේ ජීවිතවලට පමණක් නොව දරුවන්ගේ දරුවන්ට ද එම අවදානම ඇති බව ඔහු දැන සිටියා,” යැයි රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පැවසීය.
යුද සමයේ සිදුවීම් සිහිපත් කරමින් ඔහු තවදුරටත් පැවසුවේ, අද කෙඳිරිගාන්න එපා යැයි කියන පිරිස් යුද්ධ සමයේ ඇඳන්, පුටු හා මේස යට සැඟවී සිටිමින් අයවැය පරාජය කර ත්රස්තවාදය අවසන් කිරීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළ කඩාකප්පල් කළ බවයි.
විජේරාම මාවතේ නිල නිවස සම්බන්ධයෙන් ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අදහස් දැක්වීය. ඔහු පැවසූ පරිදි එම නිවස භාර දෙන ලෙස දන්වන නිල ලිපිය ලැබෙන තෙක් බලා සිටින අතර, මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ ආරක්ෂාව අඩු කර ඔහුට හානියක් කිරීමට බොහෝ දෙනෙක් බලා සිටින බව ද අවධාරණය කළේය.
