The Public Utilities Commission announced that public consultation on the proposed electricity tariff revision will begin at the provincial level from today.
Accordingly, the process in the Central Province will take place today at the Kandy District Secretariat.
In addition, public consultation will be held for the Uva Province on the 30th and for the Sabaragamuwa Province on the 3rd of January.
The public consultation on the proposed electricity tariff revision for the Western Province is scheduled to be held at the Bandaranaike Conference Hall on the 10th of January.
The Commission had previously announced that the Public Utilities Commission had recently announced a counter-proposal to the proposal made by the Electricity Board that electricity tariffs cannot be reduced and that the final decision on electricity tariffs would be announced on the 17th of January.

ඒ අනුව අද දිනයේ දී මධ්යම පළාතේ එම කටයුතු සිදු වන්නේ, මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලය පරිශ්රයේදීයි.
මීට අමතරව ලබන 30 වනදා ඌව පළාත සඳහාත්, ලබන ජනවාරි 3 වනදා සබරගමුව පළාත සඳහා මහජන අදහස් විමසීම සිදු කෙරෙනවා.
යෝජිත විදුලි ගාස්තු සංශෝධනය පිළිබඳ බස්නාහිර පළාතට අදාළ මහජන අදහස් වීමසීම ලබන ජනවාරි 10 වනදා බණ්ඩාරණායක සම්මන්ත්රණ ශාලා පරිශ්රයේ දී සිදු කිරීමට නියමිතයි.
එම කොමිසම මීට පෙර නිවේදනය කළේ, විදුලි ගාස්තු අඩු කළ නොහැකි බවට විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලය කළ යෝජනාවට ප්රතියෝජනාවක් මහජන උපයෝගීතා කොමිසම පසුගිය දා ප්රකාශයට පත් කළ අතර විදුලි ගාස්තු පිළිබද අවසන් තීරණය ලබන ජනවාරි 17 වනදා ප්රකාශයට පත් කරන බවයි.
