A fire that broke out at a building materials store in the Kurunduwatta area of Akmeemana, Galle last night (22) caused severe damage to the shop.
Two vehicles from the Galle Municipal Council’s fire department, two water bowsers from the Navy and a water bowser from the Akmeemana Pradeshiya Sabha were used to put out the fire.
The Galle-Udugama road was closed for nearly four hours in the Kurunduwatta area due to the fire, according to the Akmeemana Police.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the damage caused to the shop has not yet been calculated, the police said.

මෙම ගින්න හේතුවෙන් ගාල්ල -උඩුගම මාර්ගයේ කුරුඳුවත්ත ප්රදේශයේ පැය හතරකට ආසන්න කාලයක් වසා දමා තිබුණ බවයි අක්මීමන පොලීසිය පවසයි.
ගින්නට හේතුව මෙතෙක් සොයාගෙන නොමැති අතර ගින්නෙන් වෙළඳ සැලට සිදු වූ හානියද මෙතෙක් ගණනය කර නොමැති බවයි පොලීසිය සඳහන් කරයි.
