It is reported that the death toll due to the flu virus spreading in Jaffna has increased to eight.
The deceased is a 23-year-old youth from Karavetti area of Jaffna.
He was admitted to the Point Pedro Hospital five days ago due to fever and was transferred to the Jaffna Hospital for further treatment. It is said that he died due to worsening of his condition.
About 15 other people infected with this virus are receiving treatment in Jaffna and Point Pedro hospitals.
The health sector stated that the situation has been brought under control by now.

මෙම වෛරසය වැළදුණු තවත් පුද්ගලයින් 15 දෙනෙකු පමණ යාපනය සහ පේදුරුතුඩුව රෝහල්වල ප්රතිකාර ලබමින් සිටිනවා.
