President Anura Kumara Dissanayake instructed Finance Ministry officials to take necessary steps to strengthen and make the country’s financial system efficient.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake gave these instructions during a discussion held with Finance Ministry officials at the Presidential Secretariat (12).
The President said that the Central Bank, as an independent institution, will take every necessary step to stabilize the country’s financial situation and that the government will provide support and facilitation for this.
The President also instructed the officials to work to establish a sound mechanism to make bank financial activities efficient.
After closely studying the developments in the economy and the financial system as a whole, the Central Bank also focused on implementing new policies to ensure financial stability and the resilience of the financial system.
Discussions were also held to further enforce the existing macroprudential policies in the financial system.
With the economy stabilizing, safe developments in asset quality and prudent risk management and capital formation are expected to lead to good performance of the financial system going forward.
Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando, Minister of Justice and National Integration Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwardena, Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and other officials were present at the event.

බැංකු මූල්ය කටයුතු කාර්යක්ෂම කිරීම සඳහා මනා යාන්ත්රණයක් ඇති කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙසද ජනාධිපතිවරයා මෙහිදී නිලධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් ලබා දුන්නේය.
ආර්ථිකයෙහි සහ මූල්ය පද්ධතියෙහි වර්ධනයන් සමස්තයක් ලෙස සමීපව අධ්යයනය කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව , මහ බැංකුව විසින් මූල්ය ස්ථායිතාව සහ මූල්ය පද්ධතියේ ඔරොත්තු දීමේ හැකියාව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා නව ප්රතිපත්ති ක්රියාවට නැංවීමටද මෙහිදී අවධානයට යොමු විය.
මූල්ය පද්ධතිය තුළ පවතින සාර්ව විචක්ෂණ ප්රතිපත්ති තවදුරටත් බලාත්මක කිරීමට ද මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.
