The Magistrate issued this order yesterday after considering the facts presented by the Police Children and Women’s Bureau that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States has informed the Sri Lankan authorities in this regard.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States is an organization with members from 08 countries, and the officials have informed the court that it has software that can identify explicit videos and images of minors being shared on the internet in its member countries.
The Police Children and Women’s Bureau has informed the court that it has received information about several parties in Sri Lanka who are looking to distribute such distorted and obscene videos and images on the internet.
The Police Children and Women’s Bureau has also received several complaints in this regard, the agency told the court, however, it has not been possible to trace the individuals involved so far.

අමෙරිකාවේ අතුරුදන් වූ සහ සූරාකෑමට ලක්වූ ළමුන් සඳහා වූ ජාතික මධ්යස්ථානය යනු රටවල් 08ක සාමාජිකයින් සිටින සංවිධානයක් වන අතර, එහි සාමාජික රටවල බාලවයස්කාර දරුවන්ගේ පැහැදිලි වීඩියෝ දර්ශන සහ පින්තූර අන්තර්ජාලයේ හුවමාරු වන ආකාරය හඳුනාගත හැකි මෘදුකාංගයක් එය සතුව ඇති බව එම නිලධාරීන් අධිකරණයට දැනුම් දී ඇත.
ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මෙවැනි විකෘති සහ අසභ්ය වීඩියෝ දර්ශන සහ පින්තූර අන්තර්ජාලයට බෙදාහැරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන පාර්ශ්ව කිහිපයක් පිළිබඳව තොරතුරු ලැබී ඇති බව පොලිස් ළමා හා කාන්තා කාර්යාංශය අධිකරණයට දන්වා තිබේ.
මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් පොලිස් ළමා හා කාන්තා කාර්යාංශයට ද පැමිණිලි කිහිපයක් ලැබී ඇති බව පවසමින් එම ආයතනය අධිකරණයට ප්රකාශ කළේ, කෙසේවෙතත් මෙතෙක් ඊට සම්බන්ධ පුද්ගලයන් සොයාගැනීමට නොහැකි වී ඇති බවයි.
