ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා මේ බව සඳහන් කර සිටියේ, වෙළෙඳ, වාණිජ, ආහාර සුරක්ෂිතතා සහ සමූපකාර සංවර්ධන අමාත්යාංශයේ නිලධාරීන් හා සහල් ව්යාපාරිකයන් සමඟ ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ (07) දින පැවැති සාකච්ඡාවේදීය.
අපේ රටේ වැඩිම ආයෝජනයක් සිදු කරන්නේ මහාමාර්ග අමාත්යාංශයට බවත්, ඉන්පසුව වාරිමාර්ග හා කෘෂිකර්ම ක්ෂේත්රයන්ට බවත් පෙන්වා දුන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා වැඩිපුරම සහනාධාර ලබා දීම සිදු කරනු ලබන්නේ ද ගොවි ජනතාවට බව කියා සිටියේය.
වී මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා ව්යාපාරිකයන්ට අඩු පොලී පහසුකම් යටතේ බැංකු ණය ලබා දී ඇති බවද සිහිපත් කළ ජනාධිපතිවරයා, එබැවින් ජනතාවගේ සහල් අයිතියට අත නොතබන ලෙස සහල් ව්යාපාරිකයන්ට පැවසීය.
ඒ අනුව සහල් මිල පහත පරිදි නියම කර තිබේ.

දිනපතා සහල් මිල වෙනස් කිරීම සම්බන්ධව මෙහිදී සහල් මෝල් හිමියන්ගෙන් ප්රශ්න කළ ජනාධිපතිවරයා දිනපතා සහල් මෝල්වලින් පිටවන සහල් කිලෝ ප්රමාණය ගණනය කිරීමට ද පාරිභෝගික අධිකාරියට උපදෙස් දුන්නේය .
එසේම සහල් සම්බන්ධ ගැටලුව රජය සමඟ සුහදව විසඳා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙස ද ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා මෙහිදී ව්යාපාරිකයන්ට ආරාධනා කළේය.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake instructed rice traders to provide a kilo of Nadu rice to the consumers at a wholesale price of 225 rupees and a retail price of 230 rupees.
The President also informed the Consumer Affairs Authority to take action in this regard in the next ten days and strictly enforce the law against rice mill owners who act contrary to this.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated this during a discussion held with officials of the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development and rice traders at the Presidential Secretariat on (07).
Pointing out that the highest investment in our country is made in the Ministry of Highways, followed by the irrigation and agriculture sectors, the President said that the highest subsidies are also provided to the farmers.
The President reminded that bank loans have been provided to businessmen under low interest facilities to purchase paddy, and therefore asked the rice businessmen not to tamper with the people’s right to rice.
Accordingly, the rice price has been fixed as follows.
The wholesale price of a kilo of Nadu rice is Rs. 225. The retail price is Rs. 230.
The wholesale price of a kilo of white rice is Rs. 215. The retail price is Rs. 220.
The retail price of a kilo of imported Nadu rice is Rs. 220.
The wholesale price of a kilo of samba is Rs. 235. The retail price is Rs. 240.
The wholesale price of a kilo of keeri samba is Rs. 255. The retail price is Rs. 260.
The President questioned the rice mill owners regarding the daily change in rice prices and instructed the Consumer Affairs Authority to calculate the number of kilos of rice leaving the rice mills daily.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also invited the businessmen to resolve the rice-related issue amicably with the government.

Pinnalanda, Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research and Training Institute Director A.L. Chandika and a group of others were present at this event.
