US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu has stated that the United States will support the current government’s anti-corruption program at any time.
He has stated that he is also ready to provide technical assistance to the government’s program to bring back money that has been taken out of Sri Lanka.
The Assistant Secretary of State also stated that the US government is ready to provide financial and technical assistance to build Sri Lanka’s security and economy.
These matters were expressed during a meeting held between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu at the Presidential Secretariat today (07).
The US government has appreciated the program being carried out by the new government by identifying priorities related to political, economic and social issues.
Speaking at the event, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the political culture in Sri Lanka has a direct impact on corruption and waste and that efforts are being made to reduce corruption and waste by creating a new political culture.
The President stated that programs have been initiated to improve the living standards of the rural people by boosting the rural economy and that plans have been made to introduce modern technology into the public service and create quality public services.
Minister of Labor and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chang, USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator for Asia Anjali Kaur, US Treasury Department Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Pacific Robert Kaproth, USAID Mission Director Gabriel Grau, Political and Economic Affairs Advisor Sean Gray and others were present at the event.

ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක හා දකුණු සහ මධ්යම ආසියානු කටයුතු පිළිබඳ එක්සත් ජනපද සහකාර රාජ්ය ලේකම් ඩොනල්ඩ් ලු අතර ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේදී අද (07) පැවති හමුවේදී මේ කරුණු ප්රකාශ වී තිබේ.
දේශපාලන, ආර්ථික හා සමාජීය කාරණා සම්බන්ධ ප්රමුඛතා හඳුනාගනිමින් නව රජය ගෙනයන වැඩපිළිවෙළ මෙහිදී අමෙරිකානු රජයේ ඇගයීමට ලක්ව තිබේ.
මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක පවසා ඇත්තේ, ශ්රී ලංකාවේ දූෂණ සහ නාස්ති කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතිය සෘජුව බලපා තිබෙන බවත් නව දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතියක් ඇති කිරීම තුළින් දූෂණය සහ නාස්ති අවම කිරීමට කටයුතු කරමින් සිටින බවත්ය.
