The suspended Commissioner General of Prisons, Thushara Upuldeniya, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office said that the arrest was made in connection with investigations into allegations that a prisoner was released illegally using the Presidential Amnesty.
He is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (10), the police said.

ඔහු හෙට (10) දිනයේ කොළඹ මහෙස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත බව පොලීසිය පැවසීය.
