A discussion on measures to be taken to attract tourists even during the off-season was held at the Presidential Secretariat on the afternoon of (06) between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and key stakeholders in the tourism sector.
At length, discussions were held on promoting Sri Lanka as a tourist destination during the off-season, elevating the Sri Lankan tourism brand through the use of digital marketing methods, improving human resources in the sector by creating the skills and training required for the tourism industry, and attracting foreign investment to the tourism industry.
Attention was drawn to the problems existing in the tourism sector, and stakeholders were informed about the measures currently taken by the Tourism Promotion Bureau to develop the industry.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that he expects to establish a unit led by the President’s Office, integrating all sectors related to the tourism industry.
The government’s Clean Sri Lanka program was appreciated by stakeholders in the tourism sector, and its integration for tourism promotion was also discussed.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Buddhika Hewawasam, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Operators Association Nalin Jayasundara, and a group of businessmen and investors in the tourism sector, including hotel owners, were present at the event.

අවාර සමයේදීද සංචාරකයන් ආකර්ෂණය කර ගැනීම සඳහා ගත යුතු ක්රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡාවක් ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා සහ සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ ප්රධාන පාර්ශ්වකරුවන් අතර ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේදී (06) වන දින පස්වරුවේ පැවැත්විණි.
අවාර සමය තුළ (Offseason) ශ්රී ලංකාව සංචාරක ආකර්ෂණීය ගමනාන්තයක් ලෙස ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීම, ඩිජිටල් අළෙවිකරණ ක්රමවේද භාවිතයෙන් ශ්රී ලංකා සංචාරක සන්නාමය ඉහළට ඔසවා තැබීම, සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයට අවශ්ය කුසලතා හා පුහුණුව ඇති කිරිමෙන් එම ක්ෂේත්රයේ මානව සම්පත වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම හා සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයට විදෙස් ආයෝජන ආකර්ෂණය කිරීම පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී දීර්ඝ ලෙස සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.
සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ පවතින ගැටලු සම්බන්ධයෙන් මෙහිදී අවධානය යොමු වූ අතර, එම කර්මාන්තය දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා දැනට සංචාරක ප්රවර්ධන කාර්යාංශය ගෙන ඇති ක්රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳව පාර්ශ්වකරුවන් දැනුවත් කිරීමද සිදු කරන ලදී.
සංචාරක කර්මාන්තය ආශ්රිත සියලු අංශ ඒකාබද්ධ කරමින් ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලය මූලික කර ගත් ඒකකයක් පිහිටුවීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන බව එහිදී ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේය.
රජයේ Clean Sri Lanka වැඩසටහන සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ පාර්ශ්වකරුවන්ගේ ඇගයීමට ලක් වූ අතර, එය සංචාරක ප්රවර්ධනය සඳහා ඒකාබද්ධ කර ගැනීම පිළිබඳවද සාකච්ඡාවට ලක් කෙරිණි.
විදේශ කටයුතු, විදේශ රැකියා සහ සංචාරක අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත්, ජනාධිපති ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ අතිරේක ලේකම් රෝෂන් ගමගේ, ශ්රී ලංකා සංචාරක ප්රවර්ධන කාර්යාංශයේ සභාපති බුද්ධික හේවාවසම්, ශ්රී ලංකා සංචාරක ප්රවර්ධන ක්රියාකරුවන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති නලින් ජයසුන්දර යන මහත්වරුද, සංචාරක හෝටල් හිමිකරුවන් ඇතුළු සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ ව්යාපාරිකයෝ හා ආයෝජකයෝ පිරිසක්ද මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.
