The specialist also pointed out that pregnant mothers and the elderly can be seriously ill if they contract Chikungunya, and that this condition can also affect the child born to pregnant mothers.
Specialist Dr. Deepal Perera also requested the public to pay attention to the fact that there is an increase in the incidence of influenza these days and that this disease can develop rapidly among children.

එමෙන්ම ගර්භණී මාතාවන්ට සහ වයසක පුද්ගලයින්ට චිකුන්ගන්යා රෝගය වැළඳුනහොත් එය අසාධ්ය විය හැකි බවත් ගර්භණී මව්වරුන් විසින් ප්රසූත කරනු ලබන දරුවාටද මෙම තත්ත්වය බලපෑ හැකි බවත් විශේෂඥ වෛද්යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
