A group of former active youth leaders of the National Federation of Sri Lanka Youth Societies, affiliated with the National Youth Service Council, the largest voluntary youth organization in South Asia, say that the Sri Lanka Youth Societies Federation is currently the Socialist Youth Union, the youth wing of the JVP led by the current government. Calling this media conference, they said that the current Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Eranga Gunasekara, is distorting the concept of youth society and politicizing youth society. The youth leaders also allege that the current Director General of the National Youth Services Council and the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Youth Societies Federation, Adi Yawa, as well as former Youth Parliamentarian and lawyer Supun Wijeratne, are currently puppets of the Socialist Students Union of the JVP.

The youth club concept, which was started in 1979, was further developed with the “Youth Discontent” Commission Report in 1991, and no government or party has ever taken any action for it. The youth group alleges that the current government is preparing to implement its political project through youth clubs.

The youth group further alleges that the youth club reorganization program for the year 2025, which was launched on National Youth Day last May (23), is also being carried out blatantly on the political whims of the Socialist Youth Union. They further allege that the official logos of the National Youth Service Council and the National Congress of Sri Lanka Youth Clubs are being removed and an existing logo, Youth Club, is being used with the red star, which is the logo of the Socialist Youth Union, the youth organization of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna. However, it was further emphasized that if this arbitrary political interference continues, the youth society members led by the Sri Lanka Youth Society Federation, the heart of the National Youth Service Council, the center of the country’s youth, will take to the streets and do everything possible to oppose this.
දකුණු ආසියාවේ විශාලතම ස්වේච්ඡා තරුණ සංවිධානය වන ජාතික තරුණ සේවා සභාවට අනුබද්ධිත ශ්‍රී ලංකා යෞවන සමාජ සම්මේලනය මේ වන විට වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුව මෙහෙයවන ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණේ තරුණ අංශය වන සමාජවාදී තරුණ සංගමයේ බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා යෞවන සමාජ ජාතික සම්මේලනයේ හිටපු ක්‍රියාකාරී තරුණ නායකයින් පිරිසක් පවසයි.මෙම මාධ්‍ය හමුව කැදවමින් ඔවුන් කියා සිටියේ වත්මන් තරුණ කටයුතු නියෝජ්‍ය ඇමති එරංග ගුණසේකර විසින් යෞවන සමාජ සංකල්පය විකෘතී කරමින් යෞවන සමාජ දේශපාලනීකරණයට ලක්කිරීමක් සිදුකරන බවයි.එසේම ජාතික තරුණ සේවා සභාවේ වත්මන් අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජෙනරාල් හා ශ්‍රී ලංකා යෞවන සමිති සම්මේලනයේ සභාපති ආදි යෞවන මෙන්ම හිටපු යොවුන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නීතිඥ සුපුන් විජේරත්න ද මේ වන විට ජවිපේ සමාජවාදී ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ රූකඩයක් බවද එම තරුණ නායකයින් චෝදනා කරයි.

1979 වසරේ ආරම්භ කරන ලද යෞවන සමාජ සංකල්පය 1991 වර්ෂයේදී “ තරුණ අසහන´´ කොමිෂන් සභා වාර්තාව සමගින් තවත් වැඩි දියුණු කරමින් මේතාක් පැමිණි අතර ඒ සදහා මෙතෙක් පැවතී කිසිදු ආණ්ඩුවක් හෝ පක්ෂයක් ඇගිලි ගැසීම් සිදු නොකළ බවද පවසන එම තරුණ පිරිස චෝදනා කරන්නේ වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුව සිය දේශපාලන ව්‍යාපෘතිය යෞවන සමාජ හරහා සිදුකිරීමට සැරසෙන බවයි.

පසුගිය මැයි (23) ජාතික තරුණ දිනයදා අරඹන ලද 2025 වසර සදහා යෞවන සමාජ ප්‍රතිසංවිධානය කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනද අමු අමුවේ සමාජවාදී තරුණ සංගමයේ දේශපාලන අත්පෙවීම් මත සිදුවන බවද වැඩිදුරටත් සදහ කරන එම තරුණ පිරිස තව දුරටත් චෝදනා කරන්නෙ ජාතික තරුණ සේවා සභාවේ හා ශ්‍රී ලංකා යෞවන සමාජ ජාතික සම්මේලනයේ නිල ලාංජන ඉවත් කරමින් ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණේ තරුණ සංවිධානය වන සමාජවාදී තරුණ සංගමයේ ලාංජනයක් වන රතු තරුව සමග Youth Club යන ලෙස පවතින ලාංජනයක් භාවිතා කරන බවයි . කෙසේ වෙතත් මෙම අත්තනෝමතික දේශපාලන අතපෙවීම නොනවත්තාම සිදුකළහොත් මෙරට තාරුණ්‍යයේ මහගෙදර වූ ජාතික තරුණ සේවා සභාවේ හදවත වන ශ්‍රී ලංකා යෞවන සමාජ සම්මේලනය ප්‍රමුඛ යෞවන සමාජ සාමාජිකසාමාජීකාවන් වීදි බසින බවත් ,මෙයට එරෙහිව ගත හැකි උපරිම ගන්නා බවත් වැඩි දුරටත් අවධාරණය කරන ලදී.
