The Department of Meteorology has issued a heavy rain advisory valid for the next 24 hours.
The advisory was issued at 9.00 am today (18).
The relevant advisory has advised the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and the Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya and Kandy districts to be cautious.
The Department of Meteorology says that the southwest monsoon is gradually establishing itself across the island and due to its influence, an increase in rain conditions is expected in the southwestern parts of the island today (18) and in the next few days.
As a result, heavy rains exceeding 100 mm may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya and Kandy districts, the Department of Meteorology further announces
තද වැසි පිළිබඳ අවවාදාත්මක නිවේදනයක්
කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් ඉදිරි පැය 24 දක්වා වලංගු වන පරිදි තද වැසි පිළිබඳ අවවාදාත්මක නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කර තිබේ.
අද (18) උදෑසන 9.00ට එම නිවේදනය නිකුත් කර ඇත.
අදාළ නිවේදනයෙන් බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව සහ වයඹ පළාත් සහ ගාල්ල, මාතර, නුවරඑළිය සහ මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික්ක සඳහා සැලකිලිමත්වන ලෙසට දැනුම් දී තිබේ.
නිරිත දිග මෝසම් තත්ත්වය දිවයින හරහා ක්රමයෙන් ස්ථාපිත වෙමින් පවතින බවත් එහි බලපෑම හේතුවෙන් දිවයිනේ නිරිත දිග ප්රදේශවල වැසි තත්ත්වයේ වැඩිවීමක් අද (18) දින සහ ඉදිරි දින කිහිපයේදී බලාපොරොත්තු වන බව කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පවසයි.
ඒ හේතුවෙන් බස්නාහිර, සබරගමුව සහ වයඹ පළාත්වලත් ගාල්ල, මාතර, නුවරඑළිය සහ මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික්කවලත් ඇතැම් ස්ථානවල මි.මී. 100ට වැඩි තද වැසි ඇතිවිය හැකි බව කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වැඩිදුරටත් නිවේදනය කරයි.
