Police Media Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga said that he died after being hospitalized after being shot while staying on an upper floor of the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Kolonnawa.
The police media spokesperson said that another person who was injured in the shooting is also hospitalized.
He further stated that the shooting was carried out by two people who came on a motorcycle and that further investigations are being conducted by the Wellampitiya Police.

ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේ යතුරු පැදියකින් පැමිණි දෙදෙනෙකු විසින් වෙඩි තැබීම සිදු කර ඇති බව සහ වැල්ලම්පිටිය පොලීසිය මගින් වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන සිදු කෙරෙන බවයි
