Six people have been hospitalized following a clash that broke out at a restaurant in Galle Fort last night (April 16), police said.
According to Galle Police, a heated argument between a group of customers and restaurant staff over food escalated into a fight at around 11:30 pm.
Both sides have been attacked, resulting in six people being injured.
Among the injured are three people who came from Colombo, including a 28-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy. The other three injured have been identified as restaurant employees.
Police say investigations are currently underway into the incident and six people from the restaurant who are believed to be involved have been identified.

පෙරේදා (අප්රේල් 16) රාත්රියේ ගාල්ල කොටුවේ අවන්හලක ඇති වූ ගැටුමකින් පුද්ගලයන් හයදෙනෙකු රෝහල්ගත කර ඇති බව පොලිසිය පවසයි.
ගාල්ල පොලිසියට අනුව, ආහාර සම්බන්ධයෙන් පාරිභෝගිකයන් පිරිසක් සහ අවන්හල් කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය අතර ඇති වූ උණුසුම් බහින්බස්වීමක් රාත්රී 11:30 ට පමණ ගැටුමක් දක්වා වර්ධනයවී ඇත.
දෙපාර්ශ්වයම පහරදීම් සිදුකර ඇති අතර, එහි ප්රතිඵලයක් ලෙස හයදෙනෙකු තුවාල ලබා තිබේ.
තුවාල ලැබූවන් අතර කොළඹ සිට පැමිණි පුද්ගලයන් තිදෙනකු සිටින අතර, ඒ අතර 28 හැවිරිදි පුද්ගලයකු, 17 හැවිරිදි සහ 14 හැවිරිදි පිරිමි ළමයකු ද වෙයි. තුවාල ලැබූ අනෙක් තිදෙනා අවන්හලේ සේවකයන් ලෙස හඳුනාගෙන ඇත.
සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මේ වන විට පරීක්ෂණ පවත්වන බවත්, ඊට සම්බන්ධ බවට සැළකෙන අවන්හලේ පුද්ගලයන් හයදෙනෙකු හඳුනාගෙන ඇති බවත් පොලිසිය පවසයි.
