The National Food Promotion Board, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture are to implement this program with the support of businessmen who currently run restaurants, and its first model restaurant is to be opened in Narahenpita on April 01.
Meanwhile, a program to improve the standards of the restaurants currently running is to be implemented as the second phase.
A preliminary discussion on this was held today (27) at the Presidential Office premises with the participation of officials from the National Food Promotion Board, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The right of the people to a healthy diet was discussed at length, and discussions were held on creating the necessary environment for consumers to obtain food that meets proper health standards, measures that can be taken to increase consumer confidence, and the contribution of the public and private sectors for this purpose.
The practical implementation of the country’s policies and plans for food standardization and quality, as well as measures that can be taken through the “Clean Sri Lanka” program to create an attitudinal change in the trading community regarding the provision of nutritious and healthy food to consumers, were also discussed.
Senior Additional Secretary to the President Kapila Bandara, Additional Secretary to the President S.P.C. Sugeeshwara, and a group of senior officials representing the National Food Promotion Board, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture also attended the event.

ජාතික ආහාර ප්රවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය, සෞඛ්ය අමාත්යාංශය හා කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්යාංශය එක්වී දැනට ආපනශාලා පවත්වාගෙන යන ව්යාපාරිකයන්ගේද සහාය ලබාගනිමින් මෙම වැඩපිළිවෙළ ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිත අතර එහි පළමු ආදර්ශ ආපන ශාලාව අප්රේල් 01 වනදා නාරාහේන්පිටදී විවෘත කිරීමට නියමිතය.
මේ අතර දැනට පවත්වාගෙන යන ආපනශාලාවල ප්රමිතිය ඉහළ නැංවීමේ වැඩසටහනක් මෙහි දෙවන අදියර ලෙස ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිතව තිබේ.
මේ පිළිබඳ මූලික සාකච්ඡාවක් ජාතික ආහාර ප්රවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය, සෞඛ්ය අමාත්යාංශය හා කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්යාංශයේ නිලධාරීන්ගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් අද (27) ජනාධිපති කාර්යාල පරිශ්රයේදී පැවැත්විණි.
ජනතාවට සෞඛ්යාරක්ෂිත ආහාර වේලක් ලබා ගැනීමට ඇති අයිතිය තහවුරු කිරීම පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී දීර්ඝ ලෙස සාකච්ඡා කෙරුණු අතර පාරිභෝගික ජනතාවට නිසි සෞඛ්ය ප්රමිතීන්ට අනුකූල ආහාර ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා අවශ්ය පරිසරය නිර්මාණය කිරීම, පාරිභෝගික විශ්වාසය වර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා ගත හැකි ක්රියාමාර්ග මෙන්ම ඒ සඳහා රාජ්ය සහ පෞද්ගලික අංශවල දායකත්වය ලබා ගැනීම පිළිබඳවද සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.
එමෙන්ම ආහාර ප්රමිතිකරණය සහ ගුණාත්මකභාවය සඳහා මෙරට තිබෙන ප්රතිපත්ති සහ සැලසුම් ප්රායෝගික ලෙස යෙදවීම මෙන්ම පාරිභෝගික ජනතාවට පෝෂ්යදායී සහ සෞඛ්යාරක්ෂිත ආහාර වේලක් සැපයීම පිළිබඳ වෙළෙඳ ප්රජාව තුළ ආකල්පමය පරිවර්තනයක් ඇති කිරීම සඳහා “ක්ලීන් ශ්රී ලංකා” වැඩසටහන හරහා ගත හැකි ක්රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී විමසා ලබා තිබේ.
ජනාධිපති ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ අතිරේක ලේකම් කපිල බණ්ඩාර, ජනාධිපති අතිරේක ලේකම් එස්.පී.සී. සුගීෂ්වර යන මහත්වරුද, ජාතික ආහාර ප්රවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය, සෞඛ්ය අමාත්යාංශය හා කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්යාංශය නියෝජනය කරමින් ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන් පිරිසක්ද මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්විය.
