A special gazette notification has been issued setting a maximum retail price for medicines.
The relevant gazette notification was made by the Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The Drug Regulatory Authority is authorized to revise the maximum price twice a year, and it is also stated that they have the legal power to change these maximum prices at any time for the public good if the value of the dollar fluctuates.

ඖෂධ නියාමන අධිකාරියට වසරකට දෙවතාවක් මෙලෙස උපරිම මිල සංශෝධනයක් සිදුකිරීමට අවසරය හිමිවන අතර, ඩොලරයේ අගය උච්ඡාවචනය වුවහොත් මහජන සුබ සිද්ධිය උදෙසා ඕනෑම මොහොතක මෙම උපරිම මිල ගණන් වෙනස් කිරීමට ද ඔවුනට නීතිමය බලය හිමිවන බවද සඳහන්.
