The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on four people including three former army chiefs of Sri Lanka.
The Foreign Minister informed the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andrew Patrick, of the government’s position in this regard today (26).
The government is engaged in the process of strengthening domestic mechanisms for accountability and reconciliation and will address any human rights violations that have occurred in the past through domestic accountability mechanisms.

ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් රජයේ ස්ථාවරය බ්රිතාන්ය මහා කොමසාරිස් ඇන්ඩෘෘ පැට්රික් මහතා වෙත විදේශ අමාත්යවරයා අද (26) දිනයේ දී දැනුම් දීමක් කළේ ය.
ඒ වගවීම සහ සංහිඳියාව පිළිබඳ දේශීය යාන්ත්රණ ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ ක්රියාවලියේ රජය නිරත වී සිටින අතර අතීතයේදී සිදුවූ යම් මානව හිමිකම් උල්ලංඝණය කිරීම් ඇතහොත් ඒවා පිළිබඳ දේශීය වගවීම් යාන්ත්රණය හරහා කටයුතු කරන බවයි.
