What will happen to the price paid for solar power units? Here is what the government is going to do..
The government has taken a decision.
It is to revise the price paid per unit of electricity for solar panels installed on the market.
This is according to the recommendations of the Electricity Board.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the cabinet paper for making the relevant amendments has been submitted to the Cabinet.
Accordingly, it has been proposed to change the prices according to the amount of electricity units generated.
An amount of Rs. 27 is currently paid for a unit of electricity.
With the new amendment, it is scheduled to be reduced to Rs. 19.
Also, a payment of Rs. 19 will be made for solar systems generating less than 20 kilowatts.
It is proposed to pay Rs. 17 per unit for a power generation system between 20 and 100 kilowatts and Rs. 15 per unit for a system between 100 and 500 kilowatts.
These price revisions will not apply to currently installed solar systems.
However, these revisions are to be made only when installing new solar systems.

එම අදාළ සංශෝධනයන් සිදුකිරීම සඳහා වන කැබිනට් පත්රිකාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බව බලශක්ති අමාත්යංශය සඳහන් කළේ ය.
ඒ අනුව උත්පාදනය කරනු ලබන විදුලි ඒකක ප්රමාණයට අනුව එම මිල ගණන් වෙනස් කිරීමට යෝජනා කර ඇත.
විදුලි ඒකකයක් සඳහා රුපියල් 27ක මුදලක් මේ වන විට ගෙවයි.
නව සංශෝධනයත් සමග එය රුපියල් 19 දක්වා අඩු කිරීමට නියමිතය.
එමෙන්ම,කිලෝවොට් 20ට අඩු උත්පාදනය කරන සෝලා පද්ධති සඳහා ඒකකයකට රුපියල් 19ක ගෙවීම සිදුකරයි.
කිලෝවොට් 20ත් 100ත් අතර විදුලි උත්පාදන පද්ධතියක් සඳහා ඒකකයකට රුපියල් 17ක මුදලක් ද කිලෝවොට් 100ත් 500ත් අතර පද්ධතියක් සඳහා ඒකකයකට රුපියල් 15ක මුදලක් ද ගෙවීමට යෝජනා කර ඇත.
මෙම මිල සංශෝධනයන් දැනට ස්ථාපිත කර ඇති සෝලා පද්ධති සඳහා අදාළ නොවේ.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, මෙම සංශෝධනයන් නව සෝලා පද්ධති ස්ථාපිත කිරීමේ දී පමණක් සිදුකිරීමට නියමිතව ඇත.
