It is stated that the Meningococcal vaccine has been made mandatory for foreign workers coming to the country to prevent meningococcal disease.
Accordingly, this has also been made mandatory for Sri Lankan workers.
This was stated by the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau.
However, accordingly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council are scheduled to implement the vaccination program for Sri Lankans on the instructions of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Meanwhile, meningococcal disease is an infectious disease caused by the Neisseria meningitidis bacteria.
If it is not treated, there is a risk of death.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඒ අනුව විදේශ කටයුතු අමාත්යාංශය, බහරේන් ශ්රී ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාලය එක්ව බහරේන් රාජ්ය හා ගල්ෆ් සහයෝගිතා කවුන්සලයේ උපදෙස් මත ශ්රී ලාංකිකයින්ගේ එන්නත්කරණ වැඩසටහන ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට නියමිතව තිබෙනවා.
මේ අතර මෙනින්ගොකොකල් රෝගය යනු නයිසීරියා මෙනින්ජිටිඩිස් බැක්ටීරියාව මගින් ඇතිවන ආසාදන රෝගයකී.
එයට ප්රතිකාර නොකළහොත් මරණයට පත්වීමේ අවදානමක් ද ඇත.
