HIV cases are being reported in many parts of the country these days.
The National STD Control Unit says that the spread of HIV has increased, especially among young people.
The unit points out that school children, especially in suburban areas, are also at risk of contracting HIV.
Therefore, health authorities are constantly informing school students and their parents to pay more attention to this matter.
However, issuing a statement in this regard, the National HIV Control Unit says that such situations are being reported in various parts of the country these days.
It is said that engaging in unprotected sex is the main reason for this. Therefore, the National STD Control Program has requested the entire population of the country to engage in safe sexual activities.
The unit also emphasizes that one should be more careful during sexual intercourse. However, it has been revealed that HIV is increasing among people who engage in oral sex during unprotected sexual activities these days.
Therefore, the National STD Control Program urges people to always use a condom when engaging in oral sex.
STD specialist Dr. Nimali Jayasuriya stated that since the AIDS virus is present in blood and semen and this can be a transmission route during oral sex, it is appropriate to wear a condom in this way.
Therefore, she is of the opinion that it is important for the man to definitely use a condom during oral sex. She points out that there is a higher risk if there is ejaculation, bleeding gums or wounds anywhere in the mouth or around the lips (or genitals) or inflammation caused by common throat infections or sexually transmitted infections.
The National STD Control Program has also informed the public that free condoms can be obtained from government STD clinics across the island.

කෙසේ වෙතත් ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කරමින් ජාතික hiv මර්දන ඒකකය පවසන්නේ මෙදිනවල එවැනි තත්ත්වයන් රටේ විවිධ ප්රදේශවල වාර්තා වෙමින් පවතින බවයි.
අනාරක්ෂිතව ලිංගික කටයුතු වල නිරත වීම ඊට ප්රධාන හේතුව වී ඇති බවයි සඳහන් වන්නේ. එම නිසා ආරක්ෂිතව ලිංගික ක්රියාවල නිරත වන ලෙසයි ජාතික ලිංගාශ්රිත රෝග මර්දන වැඩසටහන රටේ සමස්ත ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලීමක් කර ඇත්තේ.
ලිංගික ඉරියව්වලදී වඩාත් පරිස්සම් විය යුතු බවද එම ඒකකය අවධාරණය කර සිටිනවා. කෙසේ වෙතත් මේ දිනවල අනාරක්ෂිත ලිංගික ක්රියාකාරකම්වල මුඛ සංසර්ගයේ යෙදෙන පිරිස් අතර hiv රෝගය වර්ධනය වීමක් පෙන්නුම් කරන බවයි අනාවරණය වී ඇත්තේ.
එම නිසා මුඛ සංසර්ගයේ යෙදෙන පිරිස් සෑමවිටම කොණ්ඩමයක් භාවිත කරන ලෙස ජාතික ලිංගාශ්රිත රෝග මර්දන වැඩසටහන ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිනවා.
ලිංගාශ්රිත රෝග පිළිබඳ විශේෂඥ වෛද්ය නිමාලි ජයසූරිය ප්රකාශ කළේ, ඒඩ්ස් වයිරසය රුධිරයේ සහ ශුක්ර තරලයේ පවතින අතර මුඛ සංසර්ගයේදී මෙය සම්ප්රේෂණ මාර්ගයක් විය හැකි නිසා මෙලෙස කොණ්ඩමයක් පැලඳීම සුදුසු බවයි.
එම නිසා මුඛ සංසර්ගයේදී පිරිමි පුද්ගලයා අනිවාර්යෙන්ම කොණ්ඩමයක් භාවිත කිරීම වැදගත් බවයි ඇයගේ මතය වී ඇත්තේ. ශුක්රාණු පිටවීම, විදුරුමස් ලේ ගැලීම හෝ මුඛයේ හෝ තොල් වටා (හෝ ලිංගික අවයව) ඕනෑම තැනක තුවාල ඇතිවීම හෝ සාමාන්ය උගුර ආසාදන හෝ ලිංගිකව සම්ප්රේෂණය වන ආසාදන නිසා ඇතිවන දැවිල්ලක් තිබේ නම් මෙහි වැඩි අවදානමක් පවතින බවයි ඇය පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ.
