The third reading of the 2025 budget was passed by majority vote.
The budget received 159 votes in favor and 45 votes against.
The third reading of the 2025 budget, or the voting at the committee stage, began this afternoon (21).
The Appropriation Bill relating to the 2025 budget was presented to Parliament for first reading on January 09, 2025, and the 2025 budget was presented to Parliament by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, as the Minister of Finance, at 10.30 a.m. on February 17.
Accordingly, the second reading debate was held for 7 days from February 18 to February 25.
Subsequently, the second reading vote on the Bill was held on February 25th, while the Committee Stage debate on the Appropriation Bill was held for 19 days, including 4 Saturdays, from February 27th to March 21st, and the relevant vote was taken this afternoon.

අයවැයට පක්ෂව ඡන්ද 159ක් ලැබුණු අතර විපක්ෂව ලැබුණු ඡන්ද සංඛ්යාව 45ක්.
2025 වසර සඳහා වන අය-වැය පිළිබඳ තෙවැනි වර කියැවීම හෙවත් කාරක සභා අවස්ථාවේදී වන ඡන්ද විමසීම අද (21) පස්වරුවේ ආරම්භ කෙරුණා.
2025 වර්ෂය සඳහා අය-වැයට අදාළව විසර්ජන පනත් කෙටුම්පත 2025 ජනවාරි 09 වන දින පළමු කියවීම සඳහා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කළ අතර 2025 වර්ෂය සඳහා වන අය-වැය මුදල් අමාත්යවරයා ලෙස ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා විසින් පෙබරවාරි 17 වැනි දින පෙරවරු 10.30ට පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබුවා.
ඒ අනුව, පෙබරවාරි 18 වැනි දින සිට පෙබරවාරි 25 වැනි දින දක්වා දින 7ක් දෙවැනිවර කියවීමේ විවාදය පැවැත්විණ.
ඉන්පසුව, පනත් කෙටුම්පතේ දෙවැනි කියවීමේ ඡන්ද විමසීම පෙබරවාරි 25 වැනි දින පැවැත්වුණු අතර විසර්ජන පනත් කෙටුම්පත පිළිබඳ කාරක සභා අවස්ථාවේ විවාදය පෙබරවාරි 27 වැනි දින සිට මාර්තු 21 වැනි දින දක්වා සෙනසුරාදා දින 4ක් ඇතුළුව දින 19ක් පැවැති අතර, ඊට අදාළ ඡන්ද විමසීම අද පස්වරුවේ සිදු කෙරුණා.
