The Jaffna Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit said that three suspects were arrested yesterday (12) in connection with several violent incidents in the Kokuvil area of Jaffna.
The suspects were arrested during an investigation conducted by the Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit officers in connection with a group that attacked a person with sharp weapons and fled near the Kokuvil Gnanapanditha School on March 03.
After further questioning of the arrested suspects, sharp weapons, motorcycles and a stock of drugs used in the violent acts were found.
The Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit further said that these suspects who were arrested can be described as a group that directly contributes to the sword gangs operating in Jaffna and that steps have been taken to present them, who are residents of the Kokuvil area of Jaffna, before the Jaffna court.
යාපනය කොකුවිල් ප්රදේශයේදී පසුගිය දිනයන්හි ප්රචණ්ඩකාරි සිදුවීම් කිහිපයකට සම්භන්ධ සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකු ඊයේ (12) දින අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් බවට යාපනය කොට්ඨාශ භාර අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශය පැවසීය.
මාර්තු මස 03 වනදා කොකුවිල් ඥානපණ්ඩිත පාසල ආසන්නයේදී පුද්ගලයෙකුට තියුණු ආයුධවලින් පහරදී තුවල සිදුකොට පලාගිය පිරිසක් සම්භන්ධයෙන් කොට්ඨාශ අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශ නිලධාරීන් විසින් සිදුකරන ලද පරික්ෂණයකදී මෙම සැකකරුවන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට හැකිව තිබුණි.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන්ගෙන් වැඩිදුර ප්රශ්ණ සිදුකිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව ඔවුන් ප්රචණ්ඩක්රියා සඳහා භාවිතා කරනු ලැබූ තියුණු ආයුධ, යතුරුපැදි මෙන්ම මත්ද්රව්ය තොගයක්ද තිබී සොයාගෙන ඇත.
යාපනයේ ක්රියාත්මක වන කඩු කල්ලි සඳහා සෘජුවම දායකවන පිරිසක් වශයෙන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් මෙම සැකකරුවන් හැඳින්විය හැකි බවටත් යාපනය කොකුවිල් ප්රදේශ්යන්හි පදිංචි ඔවුන් යාපනය අධිකරණය වෙතට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇතැයිද කොට්ඨාශ අපරාධ විමර්ශන ඒකකය වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.
