The Election Commission says that the deadline for accepting postal vote applications for the Local Government Elections has been extended until 12.00 midnight on March 17.
Accordingly, the Commission stated that the extension was made taking into account possible delays in the mail and requests received by the Commission.

තැපැල් ඡන්ද අයදුම්පත් භාර ගැනීමේ කාල සීමාව දීර්ඝ කෙරේ
පළාත් පාලන ආයතන ඡන්ද විමසීමට අදාළව තැපැල් ඡන්ද ඉල්ලුම්පත්ර භාර ගැනීමේ කාලය මාර්තු 17 වැනිදා මධ්යම රාත්රී 12.00 දක්වා දීර්ඝ කළ බව මැතිවරණ කොමිසම පවසනවා.
ඒ අනුව තැපෑලෙන් සිදුවිය හැකි ප්රමාදයන් හා කොමිෂන් සභාව වෙත ලැබුණු ඉල්ලීම් සැලකිල්ලට ගෙන මෙලෙස දීර්ඝ කිරීම සිදු කළ බවයි එම කොමිසම සඳහන් කළේ.
පළාත් පාලන ආයතන ඡන්ද විමසීමට අදාළව තැපැල් ඡන්ද ඉල්ලුම්පත්ර භාර ගැනීම අද දිනයෙන් අවසන්වීමට නියමිතව තිබුණා.
