The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning statement regarding the hot weather conditions.
It is valid for tomorrow (18).
The statement states that the heat index is expected to remain at a “Warning” level in some places in the Northern, North Central, North Western, Western and Southern provinces and the Ratnapura district.
Accordingly, if you are around the workplace, you are advised to drink enough water and rest in shady places as much as possible, the statement further states.
If you are staying indoors, you are advised to pay more attention to the elderly and sick.
In addition, the statement states that young children should not be left alone in vehicles and that they should limit strenuous activities.
ඉහළ උණුසුම් තත්ත්වයක් – කාලගුණයෙන් විශේෂ නිවේදනයක්
උණුසුම් කාලගුණ තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මඟින් අවවාදාත්මක නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කර තිබෙනවා.
හෙට (18) දිනය සඳහා වලංගු වන පරිදියි.

ඒ අනුව ඔබ වැඩ බිම් ආශ්රිතව ගැවසෙන්නේ නම් ප්රමාණවත් පරිදි ජලය පානය කරන ලෙසත් හැකි පමණ සෙවණ සහිත ස්ථානවල විවේක ගන්නා ලෙසත් එම නිවේදනයේ වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන්.
ඔබ නිවස තුළ වෙසෙන්නේ නම් වැඩිහිටි සහ රෝගී පුද්ගලයින් කෙරෙහි වැඩි සැලකිල්ලක් දක්වන ලෙසයි සඳහන් වන්නේ.
මීට අමතරව කුඩා ළමුන් වාහන තුළ තනිව රඳවා නොයන ලෙසත්, අධික වෙහෙසකාරී කටයුතු සීමා කරමින් කටයුතු කරන ලෙසත් එම නිවේදනයේ දැක්වේ.
