Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa says he is ready to vacate the official residence of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at any time.
The MP stated this while responding to a question from the media today.
“That house was given to former presidents by the constitution. It is an issue centered around security. But if the current president wants to sell that house to someone and therefore wants to remove former President Mahinda Rajapaksa from there. The president can know that in writing. It is not a house that we asked for, but something that a former president receives according to the constitution.”

“ඒ ගෙදර හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරුන්ට ව්යවස්ථාවෙන් ලබාදීපු එකක්. විශේෂයෙන් ආරක්ෂාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් කේන්ද්ර කරගත්ත ප්රශ්නයක්. හැබැයි වර්ථමාන ජනාධිපතිට ඒ ගෙදර කාට හරි විකුණගන්න අවශ්යනම් ඒ නිසා මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයා එතනින් ඉවත්කරගන්න අවශ්යනම්. ජනාධිපතිවරයාට ඒක ලිඛිතව දන්නවන් පුළුවන්. අපි ඉල්ලලා ගත්තු ගෙයක් නෙමෙයි ව්යවස්ථානූකූලව හිටපු ජනාධිපතිවරයෙක්ට ලැබෙන දෙයක්.”
