The Police Media Division would like to inform you that a false video clip made by a certain person is circulating on social media, claiming that it is a special announcement made by the Sri Lanka Police to the public in conjunction with the ‘Clean Sri Lanka – 2025 program’ implemented by the government.
The video clip states that the public has emphasized on keeping the areas in front of their homes clean and other matters, citing a section of the Police Ordinance, and that legal action will be taken against those who do not do so after 2025.01.15.
The Police emphasize that this video clip circulating on social media is a false video clip.
The Sri Lanka Police has not released such a video clip.
The Sri Lanka Police have initiated an investigation to take legal action against the person who released the audio clip in question.

රජය මගින් ක්රියාත්මක කරනු ලබන ‘ක්ලීන් ශ්රී ලංකා – 2025 වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව ශ්රී ලංකා පොලීසිය මගින් මහජනතාව වෙත සිදු කරන විශේෂ දැනුම් දීමයි’ යනුවෙන් කිසියම් පුද්ගලයෙකු විසින් සිදු කළ අසත්ය හඬපටයක් සමාජ මාධ්ය ඔස්සේ සංසරණය වෙමින් පවතින බව පොලිස් මාධ්ය කොට්ඨාසය දැනුම් දීමක් කරනු ලැබේ.
පොලිස් ආඥා පනතේ වගන්තියක් සදහන් කරමින් මහජනතාව විසින් නිවෙස් ඉදිරිපිට ප්රදේශ පිරිසිදුව තබා ගැනීම ඇතුළු තවත් කරුණු සම්බන්ධයෙන් අවධාරණය කර ඇති බවටත් එසේ නොකරන පුද්ගලයින්ට එරෙහිව 2025.01.15 වැනි දිනෙන් පසු නෛතික ක්රියාමාර්ග ගන්නා බවටත් එම හඬ පටයේ සදහන් කර ඇත.
සමාජ මාධ්ය ඔස්සේ සංසරණය වන මෙම හඬ පටය අසත්ය හඬ පටයක් බව පොලිසිය අවධාරණය කරයි.
මෙවැනි හඬ පටයක් ශ්රී ලංකා පොලිසිය නිකුත් කර නොමැත.
අදාළ හඬ පටය නිකුත් කළ පුද්ගලයාට එරෙහිව නෛතික ක්රියාමාර්ග ගැනීම සදහා ශ්රී ලංකා පොලිසිය විසින් විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර තිබේ.
