Since many public institutions have been given bonuses for the year 2024, the National Employees’ Union has requested the government to make necessary arrangements to provide the same bonus to the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board as soon as possible.
This request has been made by the Ceylon Electricity Board branch of the union in a letter addressed to Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody.
There has been a lot of discussion in recent days regarding the provision of bonuses to the employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Such discussion came to light with the request made by the convener of the Ceylon Electricity Board Joint Trade Union Center, Ranjan Jayalal.
However, after he made such a statement, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that the relevant bonus would not be provided.
After that, Ranjan Jayalal had completely changed his mind and issued a statement to a national newspaper stating that if bonuses are given to employees, they will have to face power cuts in the event of a drought that may affect them next year.
In this context, the National Employees’ Union has once again requested the Minister to provide bonuses to the employees of the Electricity Board for the year 2024.

රාජ්ය ආයතන රැසකට 2024 වසරට අදාළ ප්රසාද දීමනා ලබාදී ඇති බැවින් ලංකා විදුලි බල මණ්ඩලයේ සේවකයින් වෙනුවෙන් ද එම ප්රසාද දීමනාව හැකි ඉක්මනින් ලබාදීමට අවශ්ය කටයුතු සලසා දෙන ලෙස ජාතික සේවක සංගමය රජයෙන් ඉල්ලීමක් කර සිටිනවා
මෙම ඉල්ලීම සිදුකර ඇත්තේ, එම සංගමයේ ලංකා විදුලි බල මණ්ඩල ශාඛාව බලශක්ති අමාත්ය කුමාර ජයකොඩි වෙත ලිපියක් යොමු කරමිනුයි.
ලංකා විදුලි බල මණ්ඩලයේ සේවකයන්ට ප්රසාද දීමනා ලබාදීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් පසුගිය දිනවල දැඩි කතාබහක් හටගෙන තිබුණි.
එලෙස කතාබහට ලක් වූයේ, ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩල ඒකාබද්ධ වෘත්තීය සමිති මධ්යස්ථනයේ කැදවුම්කරු රන්ජන් ජයලාල් ඊට අදාළව සිදු කළ ඉල්ලීමත් සමගයි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඔහු එසේ ප්රකාශ කිරීමෙන් පසු කැබිනට් ප්රකාශක අමාත්ය වෛද්ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස අදාළ ප්රසාද දීමනාව ලබා නොදෙන බව සදහන් කරීමත් සමගය.
ඉන් අනතුරුව සේවකයන්ට ප්රසාද දීමනා ලබාදුනහොත් ලබන වසරේ බලපෑ හැකි නියඟයකදී විදුලි කප්පාදුවකට මුහුණ දීමට සිදුවන බවයි, රන්ජන් ජයලාල් ද සියමතය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම වෙනස් කරමින් ජාතික පුවත්පතක් වෙත ප්රකාශයක් නිකුත් කරමින් සදහන් කර තිබුණේ.
මෙවන් පසුබිමක විදුලි බල මණ්ඩලයේ සේවකයන්ට 2024 වසරට අදාළ ප්රසාද දීමනා ලබාදීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජාතික සේවක සංගමය අමාත්යවරයගෙන් යළි ඉල්ලා තිබේ.
