The acting IGP has launched a program to eradicate the underworld and drug trafficking, says DIG Nishantha de Silva.
Emphasizing that the police alone cannot do it and that public support is needed, the DIG also emphasizes that the police have not received a single phone call requesting the release of a drug addict since the new government was formed.
He points out that eliminating the underworld is not a big deal and that some time is needed to work freely for it.
DIG Nishantha de Silva requests that he, the country’s licensee, be given some more time to work freely to suppress the underworld and the even worse underworld.

පාතාළය නැති කරන එකක් මහ ලොකු දෙයක් නොවන බවත් ඒ සඳහා නිදහසේ වැඩ කිරීමට යම් කාලයක් අවශ්ය බවත් ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙයි.
යුද්ධය අවසන් කිරීමට අවුරුදු 30ක් ගිය බවත් පාතාළය ඊටත් වඩා දරුණු පාතාළය මර්දනය කිරීමට රටේ ලයිසන් චන්ඩි වන තමන්ට නිදහසේ වැඩ කිරීමට තව ටික කාලයක් ලබා දෙන ලෙසත් නියෝජ්ය පොලිස්පති නිශාන්ත ද සිල්වා ඉල්ලා සිටියි.
