A woman plantation worker who was picking tea leaves in a tea estate was injured after being attacked by a mountain tiger and was admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Regional Hospital yesterday (05), the Bagawanthalawa Police said.
A group of plantation workers in Morawatta, Bagawanthalawa were picking tea leaves in a tea estate near the Bopathtalawa Reserve when the woman was attacked by a mountain tiger that had come to hunt a dog.
A doctor at the Bagawanthalawa Hospital told the media that the woman, who was injured in the attack, will be transferred to the Dickoya Base Hospital for further treatment as the tiger’s claw marks are all over her body.

ප්රහාරයෙන් තුවාල ලැබු කාන්තාවගේ සිරුර පුරා කොටියාගේ නිය පහරවල් තිබෙන නිසා ඇය වැඩිදුර ප්රතිකාර සදහා දික්ඔය මුලික රෝහල වෙත මාරුකර යැවිමට නියමිත බව බගවන්තලාව රෝහලේ වෛද්යවරයකු ජනමාධ්ය වෙත පවසා ඇත.
