Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department today (11).
It is reported that this summons has been made to give a statement in relation to a complaint filed by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
Keheliya Rambukwella has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the import of medicines into the country and several ministers of the previous government have given statements in relation to it before the Criminal Investigation Department.
Sources in the Criminal Investigation Department state that a statement is to be obtained from former President Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding the collective responsibility of the Cabinet regarding the incident.

හිටපු ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්රමසිංහ මහතාට අද (11) දිනයේ අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස දැනුම් දී තිබෙනවා.
හිටපු සෞඛ්ය අමාත්ය කෙහෙළිය රඹුක්වැල්ල මහතා සිදුකළ පැමිණිල්ලකට අදාළව ප්රකාශයක් ලබාදීම සඳහා මෙම කැඳවීම සිදුකර ඇති බවට වාර්තා වනවා.
මෙරටට ඖෂධ ගෙන්වීමට අදාළව කෙහෙළිය රඹුක්වැල්ල මහතා විසින් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවට පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති අතර ඊට අදාළව පසුගිය රජයේ මැති ඇමතිවරුන් කිහිපදෙනෙකු අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හමුවේ ප්රකාශ ලබාදෙනු ලැබුවා.
කැබිනට් මණ්ඩලයේ සාමූහික වගකීමට අදාළව එම සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් හිටපු ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්රමසිංහ මහතාගෙන් ප්රකාශයක් ලබා ගැනීමට නියමිත බව අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තු ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කරනවා.
