The Government Veterinary Officers Association has decided to commence a 24-hour symbolic strike from 6:00 am today
The President of the Association, Dr. Upul Ranjith Kumara, stated this while calling a media briefing in Colombo.
The Association points out that the decision to go on strike was made due to the continuous efforts of the Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture to sabotage the government’s efforts to formulate a separate service constitution for veterinarians.
As a result, the work of all government veterinary offices will be disrupted and the services of veterinarians at the Department of Zoological Gardens, the Department of Wildlife, the Animal Quarantine Centers at the ports and airports and local government institutions will be disrupted, said the President of the Government Veterinary Officers Association, Dr. Upul Ranjith Kumara.
පශු වෛද්ය නිලධාරින් අද දින වැඩ වර්ජනයක
අද දින උදෑසන 6:00යේ සිට පැය 24ක සංකේත වැඩ වර්ජනයක් ආරම්භ කිරීමට රජයේ පශු වෛද්ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමය තීරණය කර තිබේ.
එම සංගමයේ සභාපති වෛද්ය උපුල් රංජිත් කුමාර මහතා මේ බව කොළඹදී මාධ්ය හමුවක් කැඳවෙමින් සඳහන් කළේය.
රජය පශු වෛද්යවරුන් සඳහා වෙන් වූ සේවා ව්යවස්ථාවක් සකස් කිරීමට කටයුතු කර ඇති පසුබිමක එය කඩාකප්පල් කිරීමට කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්යංශයේ ලේකම් දිගින් දිගටම කටයුතු කිරීම හේතුවෙන් මෙලෙස වැඩවර්ජනයකට යෑමට තීරණය කළ බව එම සංගමය පෙන්වා දෙයි.
ඒ හේතුවෙන් රජයේ සියලුම පශු වෛද්ය කාර්යාලවල කටයුතු අඩපණ වන බවත් සත්ත්ව උද්යාන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, වනජීවී දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, වරායේ සහ ගුවන්තොටුපොළේ සත්ත්ව නිරෝධායන මධ්යස්ථාන සහ පළාත් පාලන ආයතනවල පශු වෛද්යනයවරුන්ගේ සේවාවන් අඩාල වීමට නියමිත බව රජයේ පශු වෛද්ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති වෛද්ය උපුල් රංජිත් කුමාර මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.
