Maldives High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Masood Imad says that 100,000 job opportunities have been identified for Sri Lankans in the Maldives and that currently only thirty thousand Sri Lankans are engaged in various jobs in the Maldives.
This was during a meeting between Maldives High Commissioner Masood Imad and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath at the Ministry today (02).
Masood Imad further informed Minister Vijitha Herath that the necessary support will be provided to Sri Lanka to increase job opportunities in the skilled and professional job categories.
Responding to a query made by Minister Vijitha Herath regarding the problems faced by Sri Lankans working in the Maldives in sending their remittances to Sri Lanka, Masood Imad said that the Maldivian government has also drawn attention to the matter and a plan has already been formulated to resolve the problematic situations.
Opportunities to further strengthen the existing relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives were also discussed during this meeting.
ශ්රී ලාංකිකයින් සඳහා මාලදිවයිනේ රැකියා අවස්ථා ලක්ෂයක් දක්වා ඇති බවත් දැනට මාලදිවයිනේ ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් තිස් දහසක් පමණක් විවිධ රැකියාවල නිරත වන බවත් ශ්රී ලංකාව සඳහා මාලදිවයින මහකොමසාරිස් මසූද් ඉමාද් මහතා පවසනවා .
ඒ මාලදිවයින මහකොමසාරිස් මසූද් ඉමාද් මහතා සහ විදේශ කටයුතු, විදේශ රැකියා සහ සංචාරක අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා අතර හමුවක් අද (02) අමාත්යංශයේ පැවැති අවස්ථාවේදීයි .
ශ්රී ලංකාවට පුහුණු ශ්රමික සහ වෘත්තීමය යන රැකියා ඛාණ්ඩවල රැකියා අවස්ථාවන් වැඩි කිරීමට අවශ්ය සහයෝගය ලබා දෙන බව ද තරදුරටත් මසූද් ඉමාද් මහතා අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතාට දන්වා සිටියා .
මාලදිවයිනේ රැකියාවල නියුතු ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් සිය විදේශ ප්රේෂණ ලංකාවට එවීමේ දී මතුව ඇති ගැටලු පිළිබඳ අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා කළ විමසුමට ප්රතිචාර දක්වමින් මසූද් ඉමාද් මහතා කියා සිටියේ ඒ පිළිබඳව මාලදිවයින රජයේ ද අවධානය යොමු වුණු අතර එම ගැටලුකාරී අවස්ථා විසඳීමට දැනටමත් වැඩපිළිවෙලක් සකස් කර ඇති බවයි .
මෙම හමුවේ දී ශ්රී ලංකාව සහ මාලදිවයින අතර පවතින සබඳතා තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කරගැනීමට ඇති අවස්ථා පිළිබඳව ද සාකච්ඡා කර තිබෙනවා .
