The Kandy Municipal Council’s Municipal Commissioner has announced that steps have been taken to suspend water supply to several areas in Kandy for a period of 36 hours.
The council states that the water supply will be suspended due to a breakdown in the water supply system that occurred during the construction of the Kandy Goodshed bus stand.
Accordingly, the water supply is scheduled to be suspended for a period of 36 hours from 2.00 pm today (28) to 2.00 am on the 30th.
The Kandy Municipal Commissioner stated that the water supply is scheduled to be suspended from Peradeniya Road, Williamgopallawa Mawatha, from near the court complex to the Municipal Council junction, as well as from Asgiriya, Wewa Raawa, Raja Pihilla Mawatha, Buwelikada, Thennakumbura, Gurudeniya, Ampitiya and all streets in the Kandy city center.
The Kandy Municipal Council requests that the stored water be used sparingly as work to repair the damaged water supply system has already begun.

මහනුවර ප්රදේශ කිහිපයකට පැය 36ක කාලයක් ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බව මහනුවර නගර සභාවේ නාගරික කොමසාරිස්වරිය දැනුම් දෙයි.
මහනුවර ගුඩ්ෂෙඩ් බස්නැවතුම ඉදිකිරීමේදී සිදුවු ජලනල පද්ධතියේ බිඳවැටීමක් හේතුවෙන් මෙලෙස ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවන බව එම මණ්ඩලය සඳහන් කරයි.
ඒ අනුව අද (28) සවස 2.00 සිට 30 වනදා අලුයම 2.00 දක්වා පැය 36ක කාලයක් මෙලෙස ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවීමට නියමිතය.
පේරාදෙණිය පාර, විලියම්ගොපල්ලව මාවත, උසාවි සංකීර්ණය අසළ සිට නගර සභා හන්දිය දක්වාත්, අස්ගිරිය, වැව රවුම, රජ පිහිල්ල මාවත, බූවැලිකඩ, තැන්නකුඹුර, ගුරුදෙණිය, අම්පිටිය සහ මහනුවර නගර මධ්යයේ සියලුම වීදි ජල සැපයුම අත්හිටුවීමට නියමිතව බව මහනුවර නගර සභාවේ නාගරික කොමසාරිස්වරිය සඳහන් කළාය.
ජලනල පද්ධතියේ බිඳවැටීම මේ වන විටත් යථාවත් කිරීමේ කටයුතු ආරම්භකර ඇති බැවින් ගබඩාකර ඇති ජලය අරපිරිමැස්මෙන් යුතුව පරිහරණය කරන මෙන් මහනුවර නගර සභාව ඉල්ලා සිටී.
