The government has planned to provide new investors with the opportunity to manage the Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport and establish direct and indirect aviation-related businesses at the airport.
This comes against the backdrop of the decision to enter into a 30-year management agreement for Mattala Airport with a joint venture comprising India’s Shaurya Aeronautics Limited and a Russian regional airport management company.
However, the government stated that they are again interested in proposals from investors to manage Mattala Airport or establish aviation-related businesses at the airport.
It is also stated that the government is willing to reconsider the proposal of the India-Russia joint venture and also receive proposals from new investors.
Accordingly, it will be carried out under seven sectors covering the management of Mattala Airport and the establishment of direct and indirect aviation-related businesses at the airport.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the transfer of the management of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport to Shaurya Airlines of India and Regional Airports of Russia for a period of 30 years in April last year.

ඒ, ඉන්දියාවේ ෂෞර්යා ඒරොනොටික්ස් ලිමිටඩ් සහ රුසියාවේ කලාපීය ගුවන්තොටුපළ කළමනාකරණ සමාගමක් ඇතුළත් ඒකාබද්ධ ව්යාපාරයක් සමඟින් මත්තල ගුවන්තොටුපළ සඳහා වසර 30 ක කළමනාකරණ ගිවිසුමකට එළඹීමට ගත් තීරණය අත්හැර දමා ඇති පසුබිමකයි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, මත්තල ගුවන්තොටුපළ කළමනාකරණය කිරීමට හෝ ගුවන්තොටුපළේ ගුවන් සේවා ආශ්රිත ව්යාපාර පිහිටුවීමට ආයෝජකයන්ගේ යෝජනා සඳහා ඔවුන් යළි උනන්දුවක් දක්වන බව රජය ප්රකාශ කළා.
එමෙන්ම, ඉන්දිය – රුසියා ඒකාබද්ධ ව්යාපාරයේ යෝජනාව නැවත සළකා බැලීමට මෙන්ම නව ආයෝජකයන්ගෙන් යෝජනා ලබා ගැනීමට ද රජය කැමැත්තෙන් සිටින බව ද සඳහන්.
ඒ අනුව, මත්තල ගුවන්තොටුපළ කළමනාකරණය සහ ගුවන් තොටුපළේ සෘජු හා වක්ර ගුවන් සේවා ආශ්රිත ව්යාපාර පිහිටුවීම ආවරණය වන පරිදි අංශ හතක් යටතේ එය සිදුකරනු ඇති.
මත්තල රාජපක්ෂ අන්තර්ජාතික ගුවන්තොටුපළේ කළමනාකරණය ඉන්දියාවේ ෂෞර්යා ගුවන් යානා සහ රුසියාවේ කලාපීය ගුවන් තොටුපළවලට වසර 30ක කාලයක් සඳහා පැවරීමට අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය අනුමැතිය ලබාදුන්නේ පසුගිය වසරේ අප්රේල් මාසයේදී
