Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka says that there are a number of shortcomings in the security arrangements in the North and East at present.
He also states that the closure of camps in specific places and the opening of roads through the Palaly high-security camp in Jaffna cannot be approved by someone in uniform.
Sarat Fonseka emphasizes that confining the army to camps is dangerous and that the diaspora in countries like Canada should not think that it is not possible to produce ten suicide terrorists in Jaffna.
He points out that if those terrorists launch an attack like the Saharans, hundreds of camps may have to be established again and that such a situation should not arise.
He expressed these views while participating in a special program on Derana Channel to coincide with National War Heroes Day.

හමුදාව කඳවුරුවලට සීමා කිරීම අනතුරුදායක බවත් කැනඩාව වැනි රටවල සිටින ඩයස්පෝරාවට මරාගෙන මැරෙන ත්රස්තවාදීන් දහ දෙනෙකු යාපනයේ බිහි කිරීමට හැකියාවක් නැතැයි සිතිය යුතු නැති බවත් සරත් ෆොන්සේකා අවධාරණය කරයි.
සහරාන්ලා මෙන් එම ත්රස්තවාදීන් ප්රහාරයක් දියත් කළහොත් නැවත සිය ගණනක් කඳවුරු ඇති කිරීමට සිදුවිය හැකි බවත් එවැනි තත්ත්වයක් ඇති නොවීමට වග බලාගත යුතු බවත් හෙතෙම පෙන්වා දෙයි.
