Samagi Jana Balawela MP Hector Appuhami says that it has been proposed to give crores of rupees to the MPs representing the opposition to establish power in the local government institutions in the Puttalam district.
He also said that the opposition is ready to establish power in nine out of the twelve local government institutions in the Puttalam district.
He also accused the government of using money to buy MPs and establish power in the councils where it has a majority.

ආණ්ඩුවට බහුතරය හිමි සභාවල බලය පිහිටුවීමේ කිසිදු ගැටලුවක් නැති වුවත් බහුතරයක් නැති සභාවලට මුදල් යොදා මන්ත්රීවරුන් මිලට ගෙන බලය පිහිටුවීමට කටයුතු කරමින් සිටින බවත් ඔහු චෝදනා කළේය.
