The Sri Lanka Police have announced that a scam is circulating very rapidly, using the names of various telecommunications companies, targeting the Vesak full moon Poya day, claiming to provide internet facilities and data for mobile telephony.
The Sri Lanka Police has stated in a post on its official Facebook account that all these are fake incidents and that people should not enter their personal data into such applications in any way.

මෙම සියල්ල ම ව්යාජ සිදුවීම් බවත් කිසිදු ලෙසකින් තමන්ගේ පෞද්ගලික දත්ත එම යෙදුම් සඳහා ඇතුළත් නොකරන ලෙසටත් ශ්රී ලංකා පොලිසිය සිය නිල ෆේස්බුක් ගිණුමේ සටහනක් තබමින් ප්රකාශ කර සිටිනවා.
