Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says that the flames of war that are burning in various countries of the world will be extinguished and the entire world will be blessed with the opportunity to live happily and peacefully.
The Prime Minister made this statement while issuing a message on the occasion of the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, which falls today (May 12).
The Prime Minister’s full Vesak Day message is below:
“I am pleased to issue a Vesak greetings message to all the countrymen on this Vesak day, when the Buddhist people of Sri Lanka gather to offer offerings to the Buddha with Amisa and Prathithi Pooja in remembrance of the three fingers of the Buddha.
Our lives as Sri Lankans have been linked to the philosophy of the Buddha since ancient times. It is a gift we have received from Buddhism.
In our country, different ethnic groups and religions live in harmony and coexistence, and the celebration of a major religious festival like the Vesak festival together is the best example of this.
This is the first Vesak festival under our government, which was established based on our theme of building a “Prosperous Country, Beautiful Life”. I believe that this Vesak time is also the most appropriate time to heal the hearts of people at a time when our country is undergoing a right transformation.
For this, everyone must unite and unite I take this opportunity to invite you all through my Vesak message to join hands.
I pray with all Sri Lankans during this Vesak season that the flames of war currently raging in various countries of the world will be extinguished and that all the people of the world will be blessed with happiness and peace.
May you all have a happy Vesak festival! May the blessings of the Trinity be upon you.”
ගරු අග්රාමාත්ය තුමියගේ වෙසක් දින පණිවුඩය
ලෝකයේ නොයෙක් රටවල ඇවිලී තිබෙන යුද ගිනිදැල් නිවී සමස්ත ලෝකවාසීන්ට සතුටින් හා සාමයෙන් ජීවත් වීමේ භාග්යය උදාවේවායි අග්රාමාත්ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය සඳහන් කරනවා.
අග්රාමාත්යවරිය මේ බව සඳහන් කර තිබුණේ, අදට (මැයි 12) යෙදෙන වෙසක් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහෝ දිනය වෙනුවෙන් පණිවුඩයක් නිකුත් කරමින්.
අග්රාමාත්යවරියගේ සම්පූර්ණ වෙසක් දින පණිවුඩය පහතින්,
”සම්බුදුරජාණන්වහන්සේගේ තෙමඟුල සිහිකරමින් ආමිස හා ප්රතිපත්ති පූජාවෙන් බුදුන් පුදන්නට ශ්රී ලංකාවේ බෞද්ධ ජනතාව පෙළ ගැසෙන මේ වෙසක් සමයේ සමස්ත රටවැසියන් වෙත වෙසක් සුභ පැතුම් පණිවුඩයක් නිකුත් කිරීමට ලැබීම ගැන මම සතුටු වෙමි.
ශ්රී ලංකාවාසී අපගේ ජන ජීවිතය ඈත අතීතයේ සිටම බුද්ධ දර්ශනය හා බැඳී පවතී. එය බුදු දහමෙන් අපට ලැබුණු දායාදයකි.
අප රටේ විවිධ ජාතීන් විවිධ ආගම් අදහමින් සමගියෙන් සහ සහජීවනයෙන් ජීවත් වන අතර සියලුම දෙනා එක්ව වෙසක් උත්සවය වැනි ප්රධාන ආගමික උත්සවයක් සැමරීම ඊට හොඳම නිදසුනකි.
“පොහොසත් රටක් ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්” ගොඩනැගීමේ අපේ තේමා පාඨය මූලික කරගෙන පිහිටුවාගත් අප රජය යටතේ එළැඹි පළමු වෙසක් උත්සවය මෙයයි. අප දේශය නිවැරදි පරිවර්තනයකට යොමු කරමින් සිටින මෙවන් අවධියක මානව සිත්සතන් සුවපත් කිරීමට ද මෙම වෙසක් කාලය වඩාත් සුදුසු බව මගේ විශ්වාසයයි.
ඒ සඳහා සියලුම දෙනා එක්සිත්ව හා එක්සත්ව ඇත්වැල් බැඳගනිමුයි මාගේ වෙසක් පණිවුඩය තුළින් ඔබ සැමට ආරාධනා කිරීමට මෙය අවස්ථාවක් කර ගනිමි.
මේ වනවිට ලෝකයේ නොයෙක් රටවල ඇවිලී තිබෙන යුද ගිනිදැල් නිවී සමස්ත ලෝකවාසීන්ටම සතුටින් හා සාමයෙන් ජීවත් වීමේ භාග්යය උදාවේවායි මෙම වෙසක් සමයේ දී සමස්ත ශ්රී ලාංකිකයින් සමඟ මම ප්රාර්ථනා කරමි.
