The Sri Pada pilgrimage season, which has been going on for about 06 months, will end on the Vesak full moon Poya day, that is, tomorrow (12).
Accordingly, on the afternoon of the day after the Vesak full moon Poya day, on the instructions of the Incumbent of Sri Pada, Venerable Bengamuwe Sri Dhammadinna Nayaka Thero, the first ritualistic offerings will be performed to the relic casket and the golden deer statue of Sri Sumana Saman at the Sri Pada Uda Maluwa according to Buddhist rituals to conclude the pilgrimage.
Thereafter, a special procession carrying the relic casket, the statue of Lord Samandeva and the ornaments of the deity will begin its journey from the Sri Padasthana to the Sri Padasthana Dharma Centre in Nallathanniya in the afternoon to reach the Sri Padasthana Raja Maha Viharaya in Pelmadulla Galpotthawela.
One procession carrying the relic casket, the statue of Lord Samandeva and the ornaments of the deity, which will be placed in a special vehicle from the Sri Padasthana Dharma Centre, will take place via Maussakelle, Laxapana, Kalugala, Avissawella and the other via Maskeliya, Norwood, Bhagavanthalawa, Balangoda to the Sri Padasthana Raja Maha Viharaya in Pelmadulla Galpotthawela.
In parallel with these two processions, as in previous years, a special procession carrying the Samandeva statue and deity ornaments will be taken from Sri Pada Udamaluwe via Erathna-Ratnapura to the Galpottawela Sri Pada Raja Maha Viharaya.
After the conclusion of the Sri Pada pilgrimage season, the relic casket, the golden statue of the historical Sri Sumana Samandevi and the deity ornaments will be placed in the Samandevala of the Galpottawela Sri Pada Raja Maha Viharaya during the Sri Pada Avara period.
ශ්රී පාද වන්දනා සමය හෙටින් අවසන්
පුරා මාස 06 ක පමණ කාලයක් තිස්සේ පැවති ශ්රී පාද වන්දනා සමය වෙසක් පුන් පෝය දින, එනම් හෙට (12) දිනයෙන් නිමාවට පත් වේ.
ඒ අනුව, වෙසක් පුන් පෝය දිනට පසු දින දහවල් ශ්රී පාදස්ථානාධිපති, බෙංගමුවේ ශ්රී ධම්මදින්න නායක හිමියන්ගේ අනුශාසනා මත ශ්රී පාද උඩ මළුවේදී සධාතුක කරඬුවට හා ශ්රී සුමන සමන් දෙවියන්ගේ රන් මුවා පිළිමයට බෞද්ධ වත් පිළිවෙත් අනුව වන්දනාවාරය නිමා කිරීමට ප්රථම චාරිත්රාණුකූල පුද පූජා පැවැත්වීම සිදු කෙරේ.
ඉන් අනතුරුව සධාතුක කරඬුව, සමන්දේව රුව හා දේවාභරණ රැගත් විශේෂ පෙරහැර පැල්මඩුල්ල ගල්පොත්තාවෙල ශ්රී පාද රජමහා විහාරය දක්වා වැඩම කිරීම සඳහා ශ්රී පාදස්ථානයේ සිට නල්ලතන්නිය ශ්රී පාද ධර්ම මධ්යස්ථානය වෙත එදින පස්වරුවේ ගමන් ආරම්භ කරනු ලබයි.
ශ්රීපාද ධර්ම මධ්යස්ථානයේ සිට විශේෂ රියක තැන්පත් කරන සධාතුක කරඬුව, සමන් දේව පිළිමය හා දේවාභරණ එක් පෙරහැරක් මාවුස්සාකැලේ, ලක්ෂපාන, කළුගල, අවිස්සාවේල්ල මාර්ගයෙන් හා අනෙක් පෙරහැර මස් කෙළිය, නෝර්වුඩ්, බගවන්තලාව, බලංගොඩ මාර්ගයෙන් පැල්මඩුල්ල ගල්පොත්තාවෙල ශ්රී පාද රජ මහා විහාරය දක්වා වැඩම කෙරෙනු ලැබේ.
මෙම පෙරහැරවල් දෙකට සමගාමීව පෙර වසරවලදී මෙන්ම මෙවරද ශ්රී පාද උඩමළුවේ සිට එරත්න – රත්නපුර මාර්ගයෙන්ද සමන්දේව රුව හා දේවාභරණ රැගත් විශේෂ පෙරහැරක් ගල්පොත්තාවෙල ශ්රී පාද රජමහා විහාරය දක්වා වැඩම කිරීම සිදු කෙරේ.
ශ්රී පාද වන්දනා සමය නිමා කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව සධාතුක කරඬුව, ඓතිහාසික ශ්රී සුමන සමන්දෙවියන්ගේ රන්මුව පිළිමය හා දේවාභරණ ශ්රී පාද අවාර සමයේ පැල්මඩුල්ල ගල්පොත්තාවෙල ශ්රී පාද රජ මහා විහාරයේ සමන්දේවාලයේ තැන්පත් කෙරේ.
