The IMF will delay the disbursement of the fifth loan tranche to Sri Lanka until the next electricity tariff revision, expected to be held in June.
This was confirmed to the island by high-level sources at the International Monetary Fund and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The reason for this is the delay on the part of Sri Lanka in establishing the cost-covering pricing mechanism agreed with the IMF. It is further reported that this is a delay on the part of Sri Lanka and not the IMF.

මෙයට හේතුව වී ඇත්තේ අයිඑම්එෆ් එක සමග එකඟ වී ඇති පිරිවැය ආවරණය කෙරෙන මිල ක්රමය ස්ථාපිත කිරීමට ශ්රී ලංකාව පැත්තෙන් ප්රමාද වීමයි. මෙය ශ්රී ලංකාව පැත්තේ ප්රමාදයක් මිස අයිඑම්එෆ් ප්රමාදයක් නොවන බව ද වැඩිදුරටත් වාර්තා වේ.
